“Great Place, Great Food, Great Staff, Great Atmosphere! - Now Called Matisse.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

NOTE: THIS PLACE IS NOW CALLED MATISSE.

The refurbishment is great. Very modern and funky interior.

RIght in the heart of town this upmarket restaurant is great value for money. The staff are incredibly attentive and the menu is varied and extensive. Great wines on the menu. Delicious chocolate fondant for dessert.

Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Would go again!

“Disappointing Pizza”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2010

I went to this restaurant after seeing the score on TripAdvisor and it's either changed management or I was unlucky, but the experience was very disappointing.

I had a 110 Moroccan Dirhams pizza (around 14 dollars), definitely the most expensive pizza I ever paid even, but was the average bad pizza that you might find in any coffee shop or take away in Morocco.

Definitely a no. Save your money.

“Nice & Safe - but lacking the 'X' Factor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2010

My wife and I were walking in the New Town and literally stumbled across this restaurant down a side street. We stood outside and did the TripAdvisor thing from the blackberry and, given it was rated really highly went in. There was no need to book.

This is a really nice restaurant in terms of decor, comfort & style. Lots of warm stylish colours and comfortable seating. We sat out in the enclosed pavement area but could have sat inside if we wanted to. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Really good.

The menu is typically Italian with a mixture of meat, pasta & pizza dishes on offer. I chose a parma ham, rocket & parmigiana pizza. My wife chose a Carbonara dish.

When the food arrived I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps it was because my expectations had been raised so high by my pavement googling beforehand. The Carbonara was tasty but a bit dry. Likewise with the Pizza. Perhaps we just chose badly. It happens.

This is a really good italian restaurant. You're always going to be fed and entertained well. But the food didn't quite match the tripadvisor billing and left us a bit underwhelmed. It's a safe-bet but the whole experience just lacked the 'X' Factor

“affordable luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2010

My partner and i stumbled across this restaurant when exploring Guéliz and were instantly won over by the immaculate, trendy yet welcoming terrace area, not to mention the professionalism of the staff and their desires to meet our every need right from the outset. Delicious food, reasonable prices, attention to detail, need i say more?!
