“Fantastic weekend destination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2012

Really easy flight over, simple transfer and then walk into a truly stunninng dar Jaguar....even better than the web site pictures... this chic, boutique place to stay is beyond! 2 seconds from the excitement, haggling and more shopping than you can imagine in the souk, Dar Jag manages to be in the middle of all the action and yet as you walk through the door into the beautiful courtyard, it is like entering an oasis of calm, with tinkling water and singing birds - chill out bliss! The staff are really friendly and make you feel immediately at home, giving you discrete service and expert local knowledge of where to go and what to do - and how to barter! The massage on the terrace just before the sun goes down (80 degrees in March! mmmm) is a definite must do as are the plethora of fab places to eat and drink - from hip to waha....definitely go again.

Room Tip: All rooms are gorgeous

From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave Dar Jaguar is pure escapism! Luxury in the heart of the Madena - just beautiful rustic Marrocan charm! Every room perfectly enhances the romance and charm of the country. A treat for all the senses - if you are looking for somewhere authentic yet beautifully relaxing with staff who will meet all of your needs then this is the place to stay! The food here is delicious, fresh and enticing! Smells and flavours to come back for time and time again. Each morning we were served wonderfully tasting fresh baked Marroccan pastries and pancakes, hot coffee and the freshest of Orange juice! Beautiful Riad in the heart of the hussle and bussle - just perfect!

Room Tip: All the rooms are unique and if travelling on a romantic stay State of Grace is a must!!! Otherwise...

My friends I stayed at Dar Jaguar a few weeks back and had a great time. The staff is fantastic - they really make you feel like you are a part of their family. Staying in this amazing riad nestled within the chaos of the medina was the perfect choice for us. After an exhausting day exploring and shopping the souks we were able to kick back and relax in our home away from home. Dar Jaguar was perfect for our girls get away and I would highly recommend it for a couples retreat as well. In other words, no matter who your travel Companions are or even if you are traveling alone stay at Dar Jaguar! You’ll be glad you did.

Room Tip: There are 5 rooms in this riad and all are lovely. Check out the website. The photos are spot on

We stayed at Dar Jaguar in Marrakech for our tenth wedding anniversary in December 2010.

Aside from marrying my wife in the first place, it was definitely one of the best decisions that I have made in my life. We felt looked after from the moment we booked the trip and made to feel very special throughout our stay. Dar Jaguar is a truly magical place, a warm welcome, fantastic food, stunning. The location is unbeatable, off the main square and handy for the Souks. We are already working out who we will bring back to help celebrate our 20th.

Room Tip: Any room with an open fire. The suite is stunning.

This beautiful, peaceful riad offers exceptional luxury, the best service I have experienced and a perfect location.

A stones throw away from the main square and the Souks of the old town the Riad is situatated in the best location for exploring this amazing city. However take one step inside and you could forget how close you are to the action as the silence (except for the trickle of the water fountain in the courtyard) takes you into a trace of relaxation and calm.

Exceptional staff who would do anything to accomodate our needs.

I would 100% recommend this Riad and will be going again just as soon as we can.

Thank you for a fabulous trip

We had a great time at Dar Jaguar recently, Lucia and all her staff really looked after us & made my wifes 40th birthday & the renewal of our weddings vows a special memory. I would recommend this property to anyone & we will certainly be returning to the only Riad to stay in Marrakech.

I stayed here for 5 nights whilst on honeymoon after seeing the riad in a magazine and reading reviews on tripadvisor.

The booking process was simple and Lucia always responded to any queries promptly and was happy to help where possible. We were collected from the airport after a short delay and taken to the riad which is no more than a 5 minute walk from the main square.

We stayed in the "State of Grace" room which is the largest of the rooms in the riad. It was a little too large in my opinion and felt quite cold and not very welcoming - it would have benefited from a sofa area to relax other than just the large four poster bed. It also has a log fire which unfortunately fills the room with smoke ready for your return in the evening. The main problem with this room was the noise from directly outside the Riad - it isn't the noise of the square which is too far away to hear it is the local residents coming and going on their scooters very early. The windows are shutters only which do little to block out sound, it could really benefit from a pane of glass! After three nights we had to change rooms as I could not get a decent nights sleep. The staff did go to investigate to see if they could resolve the issue.

The room we moved to (Babylonian Vamp) was a lot smaller but it was also a lot quieter and cosier.

I had arranged a honeymoon dinner before departing but there had unfortunately been a lack of communication and the staff were not aware of this until our last night, not a major problem, these things happen. They did comment that they would have provided "other special things" if they had known we were on honeymoon which was disappointing as we felt we had missed out. They did scatter rose petals in our room that evening and provided a lovely dinner, they also brought a bottle of sparkling wine to our room which was a nice touch. Any shortcomings associated with the Riad are in no way linked to the staff as they were very courteous and helpful throughout our stay, the food was also very nice.

The roof terrace whilst adequate in size is in need of some attention as the furniture is a little tired which doesn't make for a relaxing space. The courtyard is a nice shaded space and the birds and water fountain create a pleasant environment.

In summary I fell the riad promises more than it actually offers. I considered it to be relatively expensive at £190 a night and was hoping for a bit more.
