“Home from home - But with a pool!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012 via mobile

What a great place to stay in Marrakech! Maybe 10 minutes walk to the main square but so quiet and peaceful inside the Riad.
Great room with brilliant bathroom and shower. The pool was large compared to other Riads which only had small dipping pools.
The staff would wait until we came down to breakfast before rushing out to get fresh bread for us which took under a minute!
Laure the owner was so helpful with everything. She helped with places to eat and drink, plus where to go for a good hammam experience.
Inside the Riad was bright and clean - clearly well designed and maintained. The roof terrace was lovely and it had a shower to cool down.
I would definitely recommend Riad Marrabahia to anyone visiting the wonderful city of Marrakech.

“Perfect peace and hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2011

I stayed at the Riad Marrabahia with 7 friends - a total of 4 double rooms. All were the same size but slightly different layouts, and all were comfortable and well appointed with effective air conditioning, great sized showers and comfy beds.

The Riad layout works really well here, with all rooms surrounding a central courtyard including a small pool - good for a dip but not really big enough for proper swimming. There is also a lounge area with comfy chairs, and a dining area for when the weather isn't warm or dry enough to sit on the roof terrace. Breakfast is served on the roof (weather permitting) and it was lovely to soak up the morning sun while enjoying a simple breakfast.

We arrived late and had arranged a meal in the Riad for when we arrived. It was a simple tagine and salad, but was absolutely delicious - we all went back for seconds!

The location is ideal, with the hustle and bustle of the souks and main square just 10-15 minutes walk away. We were amazed though how peaceful the Riad was - sitting in our rooms or on the roof, you wouldn't know that the square and souks were so close and it was lovely to be able to come back and switch off.

The owner is a lovely French lady, for whom nothing is too much trouble. She travels to the Riad a few times a month and was there when we were, and due to leave for home early one morning. We were unfortunate enough to be out shopping when the bomb exploded in the square that morning, and the lady cancelled her flight in order to stay behind and make sure we were all okay - she wouldn't leave until she knew we were all back safely. Another evening my girlfriend wasn't feeling too great so we decided to stay in, but after the cooks had gone home for the night. The lady offered to make us a salad and share some of her own food with us to save us going out looking locally for food to bring back.

I have no other Riad experience to compare with, but I can't rate the Marrabahia highly enough and would certainly use it again if I returned to Marrakech.

“Fantastic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2011

What a wonderful Riad, the rooms were lovely clean and fresh you can see the Atlas mountains from the roof where we took breakfast which was very good. The staff were very helpful, if you want dinner be sure to book in advance it was expensive but you couldn't fault the quality. It is a shame we were only there for one night. The location is perfect for all the sights you want to see in Marrakech and getting around was so easy, and a post Office literally outside to exchange your money.

“Modern chic take on Riad - a wonderful base to explore from and return to”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2011

My friend and I stayed here in March having decamped from another more traditional Riad which didn't have the space and ambience we were after. It is very modern, light, beatifully decorated, chic Riad - with white walls, central courtyard with pool, lounge area and terrace roof. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was good on the rood. If you are looking for the old traditional Riad this may not be your choice - but if you prefer clean lines, lots of light and space and large rooms with all modern facilities with a bit of wow factor - and yet still retaining the ambience of the traditional Riad - this is a wonderful choice. The area is perfect for sightseeing - a very short walk to the main square along a lane packed with interesting shops and all the Souks just a a few steps from your doorstep - and next door to the Bahia Palace (worth a vist). An oasis of light and calm after the wonderful madness that is Marrakech.

“Ravishing riad in the heart of Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2011

After staying for 1 week in this Riad, we almost did not want to go back home. Marrabahia is very easy to find and at a 5 minute walk from Jemaa el Fna and most of the main attractions of Marrakech. The Riad itself is marvellously decorated and an oasis of peace and tranquility after a day in vibrant Marrakech. Our suite (Zaiane) was very clean and spacious, with all required comfort and excellent bedding. Laure and staff were always available and made sure our stay was perfect. You can get excellent restaurant suggestions or they will arrange a driver if you'd like to go on an excursion. Also be sure to try out the Riad's restaurant, Fatima made us the best lemon chicken tagine we had in Marrakech.
