“Happy Overall, Recommended!”

Pros: Owners/hosts were great and welcoming. Interesting building and rooftops views. Nice sightseeing package tours available (we enjoyed the Essaouira and 3-day Sahara trips).

Cons: Sound from common area travels. Showers could have been warmer.

We were happy overall with our stay here, and highly recommend it for other backpackers and budget travelers. :)

As a westerner coming to Africa this place made Marrakech feel like home. The entire place is intricate and beautiful. The hostel is all open air and very communal. The staff there were as hospitable as I've ever seen and that's coming from someone from Georgia. The breakfast was homemade and authentic. There was also complementary hookah for those who are interested. I definitely would recommend.

Room Tip: The sleeping arrangement is pretty lax, try and get one on the top floor. It's cooler at night a...

I have wanted to write a review for a while now. We went on our honeymoon to Morocco and the staff at the hostel surprised us with covering the bed with roses in a heart shape and then surprised us again at night with a cake with our names that we all split with the other guests. SUCH an amazing staff, the vest I have ever met and I travelled A LOT :) Thanks you guys for everything!!!!!!

We stayed in the second, newer hostel and at first we were a little bit bummed because we heard that the bigger hostel was better, but we were very pleased with our hostel experience. We stayed in one of the rooms right off the common area and it was incredibly interesting trying to sleep to loud French rap, but we didn't complain (that much.) The morning music was a lot better and more soothing, like Norah Jones. We thoroughly enjoyed the staff there, especially Pedro (Badrookech) because he was like a house elf. He made us laugh all the time and was always making sure that we had everything that we needed, whether it was tea or shisha. He is really trying to learn English, so if you are willing to spend some time helping him practice his English, he will love you (and maybe even offer you some Moroccan pastries.) This hostel became sort of like our home while we stayed there because we were there for an entire week. It's centrally located, incredibly cheap, and a great family environment. If you're looking for a hostel in Marrakech, look no further. This hostel may be one of the only redeeming things about Marrakech.

Room Tip: If you prefer a quiet sleep, sleep on the second or third floor. If you prefer to not sweat yourself...

The service here is excellent and you will meet loads of fun and interesting people from around the world. Ali was very helpful in orienting me to Marrakech and took care of all of us. Breakfast here is excellent and plentiful, brought out for each person and freshly made. That have water, tea, and sheesha for guests on-demand and we could go to Riad Dia (about 15 minutes walk) to use their Riad "swimming pool", which is a glorified fountain you can sit in and drink tea with your mates. I stayed in one of the rooftop rooms at Rouge, but the shower up there didn't always have water, so I went to a lower shower. Other than that, I got what I expected and more for the price and would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone not afraid of an authentic experience!

A fabulous hostel! The staff is extremely helpful, and the accommodations lovely! Very clean & the rooftop perfect for late night hangouts. Centrally located in the old medina. The only negative aspect is that the common area is right off of some of the guest rooms, so it can be rather noisy at night.
