“Luxurious and welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is an exceptional place to stay. This was our first time in Marrakech and we arrived late in the evening, but we were immediately made to feel welcome by Elena who stayed to greet us. The riad is wonderfully decorated and elegant, with several opulent sitting areas surrounding a pool, galleried first floor suites, a roof terrace with plunge pool and sun beds, a tented dining room where we ate breakfast and a delicious dinner, and a rooftop sitting area which offers the best views in Marrakech - wonderful, especially at night. We liked the staff and found them very friendly and discreet, always helpful.
The riad is well situated, right next door to the well known Café Arabe - a very useful landmark on our first day; near the souks and la Place Jemaa el Fna. When we felt we had had enough hustle and bustle of the Medina the riad proved to be a much appreciated oasis of calm. Elena gave us excellent advice on things to do and places to eat. We intend to go back.

Room Tip: All the suites are beautiful. Two have terraces and two do not. The rooftop room is more functional...

“Stay like Royalty - be treated like family!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

We stayed here on our honeymoon this past summer and give it HIGH recommendations!

The property has been newly renovated and is absolutely gorgeous. A modern feel of traditional Moroccan Style. We loved it.

The rooftop deck has panoramic views of the city, is so beautiful and private. We went up there morning, afternoon and evening everyday for breakfast, a swim in the pool and happy hour drinks.

The location is awesome. Right in the Medina for an authentic experience and close to everything else.

The best part about our stay here though was the service!!! It was some of the best we have ever received. With only four suites in the Riad, the service is extremely personal. They would walk us to our dinner reservations so we wouldn't get lost in the medina, made all our travel and day trip arrangements, tailored our meals to our dietary concerns and even went out to get me medicine one day when I was really sick.

Elena and the rest of the staff at Dar Mo'da will make you feel special and comfortable. Stay here and you will always remember Morocco with the fondest of memories.

- Erin

“Lovely Riad”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We spent 5 nights here mid September. This was definitely one of the nicest places to stay in my travel experience. Why? Well you're going to have to stay to find out!
Location: Perfect, near the centre of the Medina, close to the entrance of the souks and the nightlife of the Jemaa el Fna, but perfectly peaceful and an ideal retreat when your tourist batteries run low.
Rooms, ours was the excellent, it had its own private enclosed sunny terrace and was comfortably furnished.
The staff led by Elena were very friendly and helpful.
The piece de resistance was the roof terrace, which was huge, had 360 degree views of the Medina, lots of seating, loungers, a shady dining area and a small but very necessary plunge pool.
This is not a large impersonal hotel but a very personal, comfortable home which is yours to fully enjoy.
We plan to escape there again soon!

Room Tip: Go for one of the suites with a terrace for that extra degree of indulgence.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

Long before our arrival, Elena made me feel welcome with her courteous emails. She responded promptly to every email and answered my many questions.

Dar Moda is located in a great part of the medina- right next to cafe arabe, terrace des epices and minutes from the souks and square. The neighborhood is safe, quiet and very charming. When we arrived we were met by Hussein who took our bags and led us to the riad. The riad itself is beautiful. Very Moroccan with elegant Italian touches. It's ornate but not gaudy like many riads that I have visited. We had two rooms and recieved a free upgrade to a suite ( thanks Elena!). The rooms were spacious, airy and beautifully decorated.

Elena, was a joy. She gave us great restaurant recommendations and we spend a lot of time chatting with her about Marrakech, Milan and life. The two Malikas and Hussein were always friendly and available whenever we needed something. Since, there are only 4 suites (and one terrace room) it is very easy to get to know the other guests in the riad. We met a wonderful Italian family and well as another American and enjoyed great conversation with them all.

Dar Moda is the best riad that I have stayed in and I would defintely return. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in the green and red rooms. The red room was nice but I loved the green room. The black an...
