A great discovery. A real peaceful Riad in the hustle and bustle of the Medina.

Said the manager is a great help. He'll figure out your dinner options and let you know how to discover the Medina. He'll help with the luggage from and to the car should you decide to park it by the Mosque's parking nearby.

We had the suite that turned out to be a real deluxe treat! Spacious, high ceilings and an eye for details.

Thumbs up all the way. And again Said a big asset for your stay.

Riad Medea was really amazing place to stay! Beautiful quiet place, clean and calm, with small beautiful swimming pool and green garden, and big wonderful sunny terrace. Service was superb - there were really trying to help out with anything, and breakfast was great (although almost all sweet stuff :)). Location is ok, not too far from Jemma, but still good 15min walk. The only consideration might be if you are tall, beware that the size of the bed and height of the door was pretty limited :)

We spent the Christmas holidays in Marrakech staying in the Riad Medea. With its tranquil, shadowy inner courtyard with olive trees and bamboo it offers a perfect getaway from the buzz of the Medina. Beautifully decorated in a mixture of Art Deco and Moroccan antique, every floor and every room breathes a different atmosphere , from the sun-flooded terrace overlooking the Medina, to the terrace with reading sofa, to the sitting room with fireplace (note the beautiful marble Art Deco lamps!). The rooms are relatively sober, but very clean and decorated with the same loving eye for detail as the public spaces. There are undoubtedly more luxurious Riads in Marrakech, but if elegance, rather than opulence is your thing, this is the place to go. The staff is helpful and friendly and speak English, French and Spanish, and can help you with any questions you may have. Breakfast is very good, with fresh orange juice, yoghurt and fruit, and bread, cake, and pancakes served on an étagère. Although Marrakesh has plenty of good restaurants, we had dinner in the Riad twice. If booked ahead in the morning, the cook will prepare you a sumptuous couscous or tagine, with side dishes and lovely starters for a very reasonable price. On one rather cold evening they prepared a table for us in front of the fireplace, and kept it burning while we played a game of chess afterwards. Situated in one of the winding alleys of the North of the Medina, it is not exactly easy to find, so take a taxi when you first arrive, or ask the manager to send someone to collect you from the airport.

We went for a Morocco tour and Riad Medea offered us the perfect stay in Marrakech.
First, it is located in the heart of the Medina but it is within reach without getting lost through the maze.
Second, the rooms are beautifully decorated in Moroccan style, very spacious, with big, traditional gates instead of normal doors and with an elegantly furbished bathroom.
Third comes the pool which has the perfect size to give you the cosy feeling of a private one but enough space to cool you down after the +50 degrees C of Marrakech.
The staff was very helpful all the way by taking us from the taxi and bringing us to the Riad (we just called them when we were in the taxi) and giving us tips on what to do, where to go and how much to pay for things.
Breakfast - always on time, very good jam and sorts of traditional pancakes. I would have loved something salted though. That could be added moving on ...
I found it lovely and we would definitely go back!

Third stay at Riad Medea, excellent location in the Medina, close to lots of main tourist attractions in the heart of the city. Friendly staff who know how to look after you. Would definitely recommend.

We had a very relaxing stay at Riad Medea for four nights, the room was cool and nice and airy to make it pleasent to sleep, The staff were excellent, and the breakfast was always on time and well presented, The bathroom was sparse of luxuries, but everything you needed (hot water, fresh towels and bottled water to clean your teeth) were supplied. It is probably 3star in amenities but certainly 5 star in relaxation, quietness and solitude(we were the only occupants of the Riad) and it is close to the local produce markets to obtain enough food for a 50mad dinner to have on the rooftop patio watching the sunset. The 'guard' of the Riad ("Fetta") who has limited english was always on hand and would organise bookings for restaurants, taxis and Driver/guide for day trips to new city/Atlas mountains or where ever you wanted to visit. This was an excellent find for us, we weren't expecting much but we were more than satisfied - only one downside which unless you have soundproof room is the 4.30am call to prayer which would be the case all over Marrakesh.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor with 3 steps to plunge pool, never had a problem with heat even though t...

All in all, a very bad experience. Maybe because, we had stayed in better places in Morocco at half the price. Finding the place is not easy if the Rue el Gza approach (suggested by Google maps) is taken. . Some of the things we faced 1. Pool with no water : Reason - because its cold in December, but should have been specified when we booked. 2. At the room called Orphee, practicality takes a second seat. First, the Orphee room is hardly what you would call bright even post noon. 3. Second, the bathroom and toilets are covered by high curtains which gets irritating by the second day. 4. a rude awakening every morning at 5am thanks to a couple of Roosters.Cant blame the roosters but what about sound-proofing advertised on the web 5. Leaking geyser not fixed and the geyser sits right on top of the wc . Breakfast was ok but half as good as other places in Morocco. All in all, I would give it a wide berth when I go next.
