“Pretty tranquil Riad!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

My husband and I booked the room for 7 nights at the beginning of June 2013. We were offered by Anass to go to the Riad by taxi, but we choose to make our own way by bus. The Riad is located in an isolated alley of Medina’s labyrinth. We couldn’t manage 100%, so we found a boy who showed us the way. It was the first and only time. Meriam, the lady from the Riad gave us a map and showed us how to find our way and which places are best to visit. The Riad is located quite near the Jeema El Fna (15-20 min walking). There is a Mosque nearby. However, only on the first night I could hear the call to the prayer. The rooms were quite comfy: small, clean and cool. The personnel are brilliant. Mohamed made us tea and we had a good chat every evening. Anass helped us with organizing the trip around Morocco, which was the best experience of this vacation. Thank you very much all! It was a smart decision to choose this Riad and I will choose it again if ever go back!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

We went to Marrakech in January, 2013 as a group of 4 white girls on a long weekend away. The riad is down a secluded alley (as is every riad in Marrakech) and after being dropped of in a taxi and pointed in the right direction, we paid a local boy 10dirham to take us to the door (lots of guys will offer to show you where to go - I'd advise spending the 10dirham (80p) because it is tricky to find on your own with a suitcase)

Greeted with mint tea, rooms were lovely, beautifully decorated, and equipped with blankets and electric heaters for the cooler winter. Lovely roof top terrace, and you can buy bottled water/coke/tea etc from the lady owner. We were given a map with highlights circled, and found everything easily enough. About a 10min walk from the souks, 15mins from the square.

Worth taking a torch if you are walking back at night, as the final few alleys into the riad aren't lit. Felt very safe in the riad, there is a night man who lets you in whatever time you want, and is around all night. There weren't any locks for the doors though - so take a lock for your suitcase.

Breakfast was epic - bread, pancakes, cake, tea/coffee/fresh orange juice and lots of jams/honey - all included in price.

Thoroughly recommended, very welcoming, friendly and lovely to relax after the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights and were not disappointed.
The Riad is very peaceful and cool and the staff are friendly and helpful. It does help if you understand/speak some French as they do not speak English - we got by though and were shown places of interest on a map.
The rooms are small but adequate and the ensuite shower room was lovely. Air conditioning in the room worked brilliantly to cool us after the 45 degree heat outside!
It is situated very close to the bus station and about 15 mins walk to the main square and souks. It is down a narrow but bustling market road which made for a colourful welcome to Marrakech! You will quickly learn Morrocan for "watch out!!"
It is a little difficult to find but once you have it is really simple to navigate to places of interest.
Breakfast of bread, jam, honey, pancakes, orange juice and coffee was nice and taken in the centre of the Riad. There is also a little roof terrace.
It allowed us a very peaceful retreat from the lively souks and I woul recommend it to anyone looking for the same.

It is difficult to find and when we were there they were re-laying pipework in the area surrounding the Riad.
But once you get there it is an oasis of calm. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful.
It was 45 degrees outside but it was still lovely and cool inside the riad. The little roof terrace is nice too.
It is tucked away in the Bab Doukala area which isn't too far from the Djemaa el Fna (main square) but this is more 'authentic Marrakech'.

We booked this riad for an overnight stay whilst we visited from a holiday in Agadir. The Riad is difficult to locate; we arrived on a Supratours Bus and the taxi driver dropped us at an entrance to the Medina and told us to walk down the narrow road for around 100 yards until we found it. Dar Zemrane is the name of the 'Alley' which then divides off into several smaller alleys. Most properties are numbered which helps. This Riad is located at the end of one of them. It is within 15 minutes walk from the main square and the alley is sufficiently lit to enable you to return after dark.

The riad has only a few rooms and ours had air conditioning (which worked but did not fully keep it cool) . There is a roof terrace on which you can sit on easy shaded seats, an open-air area on the ground floor in which you are served a pleasant breakfast and a 'public room' with television which we did not use.

The rooms are small and the owners do not speak English (we don't speak french).

This is not a 5* establishment but if you want to get a flavour of living in Marrakesh proper rather than a 'Western' Hotel it is well worth using for a couple of nights.
