“Fantastic Riad, highly recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012 via mobile

We booked this online after reading its good reviews and weren't disappointed, its located in a side street in the Kasbah area approx 15 minutes drive from the airport and a 10 minute walk to the Medina. Our taxi was arranged by the owners and on arrival at 10am we were offered drinks and breakfast. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and made us feel so welcome. We stayed in a suite which was on the ground floor and stunning! Decorated in Moroccan style, very clean and comfortable and smelt gorgeous! the air con was most welcome too ! Comfortable sunbeds surrounded the pool area and roof terrace, from entering the front door the riad looked and felt well loved and cared for.

We felt totally comfortable and relaxed and very well looked after here and will defiantly return, perfect ! I highly recommend Riad Aliya.

“Amazing tranquility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

My sister and I stayed for four nights and were incredibly happy with the service we received at Riad Aliya. Staff are courteous, efficient and very obliging. They assisted us in bartering for good deals for excursions and provided us with lots of information to plan our stay upon arrival. Rooms are clean and comfortable and they make the best mint tea we had during our holiday.

Room Tip: First floor rooms are better than ground floor for noise, having slept on both levels.

“An Oasis in the Medina”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2012

What a fabulous place to stay. In the heart of the medina, peace and tranquility reign.

Exceptionally clean and tidy, with a roof top terrace for sunbathing, reading, relaxing and eating.

The food was very good, and it's great not to have to go back out when you have been sight seeing.

The staff were supberb, we shall be visiting again, that's for sure.

“Convenient Location, clean & tidy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012

My wife and I stayed at this Riad for 4 days. This is a very convenient location in Kasbah part of the medina, a 12-15 mins walk to the famous Djema el fnaa square. Tucked inside the bylanes of the medina you might find it scary and difficult to find if you are a first time visitor. But dont get put off by it and you get used to it once you are there. Great breakfast in the Riad (loved the crepes) and owner and staff at the Riad are very kind and helpful. The area is very safe even late in the night. Check the price of the riad in local dirhams instead of other currencies like euro, dollars or pounds just to be sure. There are shops close to this Riad on the main street where prices are much lower than those in the main sqaure. As with Morocco, you will notice that anyone showing you or taking you to a restaurant, massage parlour, shop or travel agency have their commision cut out so try going direct to such places and always ask for discounts. Bargaining heavily is the key to getting the right price. If you dont know french, leaning the basics will prove handy. Avoid the food in djemaa el fnaa food stalls as its not hygenic there but you would want to try once for all the hype about the square. Buy leather products and ceramics in Fes rather than Marrakesh for better quality and price. Visit to the ourika valley is a must. Best Tajine (cooked on coal) in ourika valley. Exchange your currency in morocco rather than in your home country..you will always get a better rate and there are plenty of money exchanges.

Room Tip: always phone the riad before you arrive and they will be keen to entertain any request. better to ge...
