“An Oasis of Calm in a Hectic City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

My friend and I stayed in this lovely Riad in September for 4 nights. Francoise and her lovely staff were absolutely wonderful in making us feel right at home. We stayed at the Room Pivoine which was comfortable and beautiful. The toiletries provided had such wonderful scents. Our breakfasts could be served at any time either on the roof or in the atrium. I would highly recommend setting up a home-cooked dinner there - we had ours' on the roof and it was the best meal that we had in Marrakesh!

Marrakesh is a very hectic city but Francoise and her staff do their best to help us navigate around - from arranging airport transfers / walking us personally to Jemaa al Fna on the 1st day while pointing out banks, currency exchange, etc / and even walking us personally to the hammam on another day when we were unsure of the way. Everyone really went above and beyond and it really was our little oasis there.

Riad Argan has a good location and its owner and the staff are extremely helpful and caring. Rooms are very stylish and nicely decorated but also a bit small. Breakfast could be a bit more rich (no eggs for example). We would recommend this Riad due to excellent location, good service and cleanliness and nevertheless because of the lovely staff. Riad Argan gives you somehow the impression of 1001 nights.

My mother and I stayed at this beautiful riad for 4 nights before our desert tour. Francoise and her charming attentive staff could not have been friendlier and more obliging - it always felt like nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were absolutely divine and of much much higher quality than some of the 5 star expensive riads we later stayed at in our trip. As was the delicious dinner, which we highly recommend for peaceful calm nights on the terrace and Moroccan cooking at its best.
On our first morning we went out to explore the souks, and 10 minutes or more after leaving the riad we stopped to get our bearings. Suddenly Francoise was upon us, having clearly chased us down as we marched through the alleyways at breakneck speed - all to ask us if we had had a good first night and were alright!! I can only imagine if we hadn't stopped to check a streetsign and carried on, she may have chased us all morning through the overcrowded streets of the medina just to be courteous. That just exemplifies the kind of top notch service and human kindness the staff at the argan show their guests.
Francoise even called our tour company the day before our departure to check they knew where the riad was and to confirm all the details of our pick up - something the company director told us the next day had never before happened from any riad in Marrakech. Francoise and her entire staff go far beyond the call of duty time and time again.

My partner and I celebrated our Honeymoon at the Riad Argan and we cannot rate it highly enough. Marrakech is a beautiful city, bustling and vibrant with plenty to do and even more to buy! Francoise and her team at Riad Argan where the most exceptional hosts and made our stay truly memorable organising tours, dinner reservations and spas on our behalf as well as suggesting places to go and things to do.

The Riad is in a great location, very close to the square. It is beautifully decorated with a gorgeous roof terrace and the staff are all friendly and attentive. Would love to go back!

My wife and I spent a delightful three nights at the Riad Argan, enjoying the hospitality of Françoise and her family and staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them from arranging our transfer on arrival in Marrakech to buying our onwards bus tickets for us and booking a taxi to the bus station. W

e stayed in the Sultane suite which had a comfortable bed and great little sofa. The bathroom was closed off behind saloon style doors and contained a lovely warm shower with beautiful local toiletries.

We were really made to feel at home in the Riad and particularly enjoyed our 3 course meal on the evening of our arrival sat by the side of the little courtyard plunge pool.

Françoise also provided an excellent introductory tour of the centre of Marrakech, ensuring that we could find our way to the main square and giving her unique haggling tips.

All in all an excellent Riad that we definitely hope to return to one day.

Room Tip: Sultane was a great room on the top floor which makes it a little more secluded and private.

I spent 2 nights at this riad. It is very well located inside the Medina, in a peaceful and “hidden” alley, 5 minutes walk from the main square. The riad is really accurate, superbly decorated, with a beautiful courtyard where there is also a small pool. The room where we stayed was impressive, so beautiful and elegant! The breakfast is good, with the typical Moroccan pancakes, jams, bread, butter, fruits, orange juice, yoghurt and tea and coffee. We had once a dinner in the roof terrace, which was ok. The owner, Francoise, is very nice. She gave us many suggestions about the city of Marrakesh and the day we arrived she brought us to the Jamaa El Fna, explaining us where to go and what to do.
The only down point is the fact that, as in other riad - the rooms open into the central atrium space and during all the day you hear the people coming and going, talking in the courtyard (which is quite annoying early in the morning).

This riad was the highlight of our trip to Marrakech. We stayed in the Pearl room, on the ground floor. it was one of the larger rooms in the riad and the bathroom was lovely, tall waterfall shower and a good mix of modern and traditional. It had a gorgeous carved ceiling and was very relaxing. On the whole the place was quiet, but we heard everyone's comings and goings as we were near the front door. Also the staff tended to talk in the kitchen area, which was close to our room. I must say, that was the only down point of the whole stay. The location, just south west of Djema el-fna square, walkable in 5 mins. We found a great restaurant near this riad if you get on to main road outside the riad and turn left, it's called Un Dejeuner a Marrakech, and we ended up going their twice in our week long stay. Another nearby place good for lunch and coffee is barakshi cafe.
The riad staff will bring beer on request, mint tea And small snacks are usually lso provided, which are very tasty. The owner, Francois booked us a taxi to and from the airport, and met us from the taxi, thrn walked us to the car when we departed which made us feel very looked after. The weather was still in the high 30s when we were there and our room had brilliant air con which was very much appreciated.
