“Lovely place and total escape from the hustle and bustle outside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

We only stayed for one night on our way through Marrakech, and as soon as we arrived wish it could have been for longer. Warm welcome, lovely rooftop area, great breakfast, stylish decor and decent sized room. Shame we didn't have time to use the hamman. Option to dine in too. The Riad is within the walls but in a less touristy part of town, we went for a quick walk after breakfast, so interesting to see day to day life just outside, felt worlds away from the tranquility of the Riad. Great Value.

We spent a week at Riad Anyssates. All the staff are friendly, polite and helpful.

The home cooked food is delicious. As with most of the Riads if you want lunch or dinner you need to tell the staff in advance. I would recommend having dinner there at least once.

The riad is about a 20 minute walk from the main square but you can also get a taxi for about 10 dirhams.

We had a really lovely stay in room sarah. Spacious clean and cool with a very comfortable bed.

Thanks to Nicholas and the staff for a great stay.

We spent our honeymoon at Riad Anyssates, in a very hot August. The decor, amenities and layout of the Riad are first-rate; the pool and roof terrace especially good in the heat.

This was our first trip to Marrakech, and the location was great as a result - in the medina but a distance from the more hectic centre, and a simple enough route to follow to the centre to be achievable, while also allowing lots of scope for branching off on little adventures.

What makes this hotel really special, though, and brings together all the above, is the staff. Valerie the owner was a great help before we arrived, making arrangements via email. Nicholas is a fantastic manager, full of useful information and advice, ever available but never obtrusive. Aisha's cooking is marvelous and varied, and Isham's (sorry if I remember your name wrong!) general services and waiting impeccable.

This is a relaxed hotel, but that's ideal given the surroundings, and we both look forward to returning as soon as we can.

Oh - and the Hammam - how could I forget to mention that - we'd never had a hammam before so in the familiar surroundings of the hotel was ideal, and I can honestly say that I've never been more thoroughly cleaned - my skin is still glowing after being back in the UK for several days!

Room Tip: We stayed in 'Josephine' which was a lovely room; only a curtain separates the room from the...

I can't recommend this Riad highly enough. The facilities and service here are second to none and we couldn't have asked for any more from our stay. Nicholas, who runs the Riad, was attentive and helpful throughout our visit and couldn't do enough for us, including making suggestions for places to visit and booking restaurants for evening meals.

The Riad itself was a peaceful oasis away from the bustling heart of the medina. The bedroom was beautfiully appointed and the courtyard pool was extremely welcome in the heat of Marrakech in July.

I honestly couldn't fault this place and would be happy to return at any time.

I would highly recommend Riad Anysattes for a stay in Marrakech. Great location close to the Souk. A beautifully decorated traditional Riad with lovely rooms. Everything about our stay was wonderful, from the clean and pretty individually decorated rooms, to the roof terrace, the freshly prepared food using ingredients purchased in the market that day, the courtyard with plunge pool, and the hammam. The service in this hotel is absolutely brilliant from the general staff, cooks, massage therapists and of course the invaluable and wonderful Nicolas who helped us with language, navigation, taxis etc etc... Ten out of ten!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2012

We arrived at Riad Anyssates New Years eve and stayed for 7 nights. We thought this Riad was just lovely, beautiful decor, wonderful roaring fire, quiet and friendly. The staff were lovely and very friendly but you do really need to be able to speak French to speak to them! Luckily Nicolas was on hand to assist when we needed anything. On a few occaisions we would eat out and then come back to the Riad, order some French wine and sit by the fire, it was lovely. I liked the location and was happy to walk or get taxis to restaurants and bars I wanted to try. The rooms are really nice and i would stay here again for sure. I liked the fact that breakfast is served until 11.30 am which means you can have a nice lay in, go up to the roof terrace and feel the sun on you whilst enjoying your home made jams, yoghurts and breads! Once again, a lovely place to stay.
