From the moment you set foot into Riad Azouley you are surrounded by a heavenly atmosphere: first the decor, a rare blend of exoticism and soft basic -far too many riads in Marrakech feel too baroque and decadent in my opinion, then the soothing scent created by the incense burners and the mint tea the staff is welcoming you with and finally the whimsical sound of the water fountain by the central pool: as a result all your senses feel captured and seduced... I was truly impressed by the whole experience! Max, the manager, was extremely attentive and charming, the local staff was very warm and efficient: I had dinner twice (you should agree the menu items in advance) and the local dishes were prepared and served to perfection. I also had a massage and a gommage: you can chose amongst a number of services, including the hamman, which i didn't try. You can chill by the spectacular terrace overlooking the city roofs and sided by a minaret hosting a storks nest on its top! The only advice I'd give to travelers is to be ready to sleep in a very noisy city: at 4AM you'll hear the muezzin calling and until very late the locals are keeping the streets very much alive. Bring your earplugs along and ask for a room away from the street if you are a light sleeper. But that's part of Marrakech fascination: indeed I can't wait to go back to Riad Azoulay!
