After booking, we received an email explaining what to expect upon arrival (shisha, copious amounts of mint tea, hot water, a clean place to sleep etc.). Unfortunately the email was a wild exaggeration. Some of the issues were:

Almost all of the light bulbs were burned out

We had to fight and argue for tea and shisha

The private rooms did not have hot water

Towels were not clean

The 'included breakfast' was not included

Loads of bed bugs

Aziz, who worked there, was as helpful as he could be, but the amount of problems we (and the other guests) had were a bit much to handle. This place needs some better management.

I disregarded reviews on hostelworld about bedbugs. The problem would be sort out, right. Unfortunetely not.
I was on a 4 bed dormitory over the last floor. Bottom bunkbed nearest to the door. 15 bites over arms and right leg. If you wish to try your luck avoid that bed. Apart that quiet location, 2 shared showers on ground floor ( one nearest to kitchen only cold water, second one ok).
Try to find another cheap one with no reports concerning bedbugs or be ready to scratch your skin for a few days!
If it wasn't for the risk of bedbugs it would be a nice option for the price. What a shame!

Great location being just few min from the main square. It is located on a quiet small street, but relatively easy to get back to from the square after a day of wondering around the medina. Nice and helpful staff =)

Had strong hot shower in the shared bathroom. Also air-conditioning in the dorm room.

Had a single room for 2 nights recently. Staff is very gracious, and the hot tea on arrival is a nice touch. Unfortunately, the window in my bathroom (which looks out into the common courtyard where everyone passes by) didn't have a curtain of any kind on it, so I had to jerry-rig a towel to avoid the masses seeing me shower. Also didn't have soap in the room, and no A/C on a 95-degree day in Marrakesh is rough. Bed was very saggy, and the room was very noisy due to noise echoing from the lobby. But the price and location were both very good.

Room Tip: Insist upon the top floor if you're a light sleeper (even then you'll hear whatever's go...

I've stayed at the La Casa Del Sol for 10 nights over New Year and beginning January and It was great. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the Medina in the souks, in an enchating street. 3 minutes walk from Jemma El Fna, the square to be. (3 mins when the streets are empty, before 9 am. When the shops are open and the street fills up, it's up to you:) Although it is a busy environment, the hostel is a quiet shelter. Also has a lovely roof terrace to have a drink with your new friends, or to watch sunsets (or sunrises if you are an early bird).
The staff is outstanding, ready to help with whatever you need. Khadija knows all the shops, what to buy and where, Fatima makes the best breakfasts, and knows the local hammams, and Mohamed will tell you what is where. They will tell you about Marrakech, and the Amazigh (berber if that is more familiar) or Moroccan culture a lot if you are interested. Learn few words in tamazight, or arabic, will be useful at the shops :) I travelled on my own, and they helped me a lot to have an amazing experience in Morocco.
The technical informations: The price is very good, you see it on the hostel's website or at the booking sites. The hostel has private (single and double) rooms as well as 4 bedded dorm rooms. The dorm rooms have lockers in it, though I did not use it, the hostel is very safe. In the winter it can be cool in the nights, a hot water bottle may be useful. There is two showers and a toilet for the dorm rooms (private rms r en suit), I never had trouble with that though the hostel was full. The beds and the entire place is clean and comfortable. You can have breakfast there, it is nice and a lot (bread, butter, jams, local pancake, orange juice, tea, coffee)
I booked transfer from and back to the airport, seems to be useful, I don't know how people find the place. It cost cca 15 euro. Although, I'm sure you can phone them when you are near, and they will walk you there.
And of course you meet people at the hostel from any part of the world to buddy up for a chat or a meal out.

We stayed a few nights at the beginning and end of a week(ish)-long Morocco visit. The staff here really stands out. As soon as we arrived, Khdidija poured us tea and gave us a map and went over all the basics of the city with us. Throughout our stay, the staff was always ready to help us with anything we needed. Most memorable: An evening hanging out in the common area with travelers around the world, sharing mint tea and hookah.

The rate is extremely affordable, the amenities are simple - just what a backpacker needs.

The building is beautiful and the location is as good as it gets, in the heart of the old medina.

Thanks you Casa Del Sol.

I only stayed at La Casa Del Sol for one night, but would have gladly stayed longer. The rates are very reasonable, wifi is accessible whether you're on the ground floor or on the roof terrace, and the staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are cozy, clean and comfortable. Although the riad is just a short walk away from the ever-bustling Jemaa El Fna, you won't hear those sounds from the riad.

I had trouble finding the place, so I called the hotel, and Mohammed very kindly met me outside the former Cafe Argana and showed me the way. The riad is not signposted, unfortunately. A sign in the souk just before the right turn into the alley where the riad is located, as well as a sign on the front door would be very helpful.

If you stay on a Friday night and are in during the late afternoon, you can listen to the Sufi family next door perform devotional songs. It is beautiful music, and really lends a bit of magic to your stay.

As a solo woman traveller, I felt very safe in this riad and its neighbourhood.
