“Fantastic Riad with exceptional staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2011

It is clear to see why Riad Alamir has had so much positive feedback - it really is an amazing place to stay. A few minutes walk from the main square, hidden in the maze of back streets, Alamir is a hidden gem. The place is beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and has lovely staff always willing to help out. We were lucky enough to stay in the room on the roof terrace which overlooked the rooftops and had a gorgeous view of the Mosque - a truly unique setting. Can't praise this place enough, it really is excellent. Thanks very much Stephane and team!

Located in the middle of the Medina, but away from all noise, we were like many others surprised about what we discovered behind the sober entrance door without signs in that little dead end street. The way we have been felt welcome, the spotless and superb looking rooms where modern and ancient styles are matched like in a magazine, and the well taken care off breakfasts we had, including the fact that we have been extremely well taken care off (espec. as one of us was ill) by Stefan and the staff, make us almost not wanting to recommend this riad to avoid that too many people would discover it. If you hesitate between the huge choice of riads like we did, we'll make your life easy, just book this one if it is available!!

I spent hours/days researching tripadvisor to find the 'perfect' riad in marrakech... With so much choice out there (between guide books and online) it seems impossible to know where is the best place!! But something about riad alamir struck me, and I decided- right, this is the one. I was not disappointed. Everything about this riad is as I had hoped- the interiors are traditional yet clean and comfortable, it's nice and cool even when the weather outside is sweltering, the owner is the most lovely and helpful gentleman (he really 'makes' it), the location is 100% perfect (5k mins walk from djemma el fna, set in a safe upmarket area- we felt very safe walking home in the evenings after dinner), and it is fantastic value for money. We loved it so much, that we extended our stay by another 2 or 3 night... I really can recommend this riad. Thank you stephen!

to everyone who wants to visVery helpful and friendly staff: thanks to Stéphane, Valérie, Yacine, Latifa as well as the other staff member of the Riad situated right in the center of the medina at 5 minutes walking from the square Jamma el Fna as well as the souk. Very tasty breakfast but we didn't have the chance to taste the famous tajine prepared by the Riad (qualified as excellent). Our room was the Mizar Junior Suite and we really enjoyed it (even in the riads in general you have to get used to hear people voices in the patio and to let room doors unlocked (but there is a safe at the reception)- these are principles in all riads). The terrace and the swimming-pool are wonderful. I would strongly recommend Riad Alamir in Marrakech.

Staying in Riad Alamir was definitely a great choice! Everything about the riad was lovely. Very close to Jemma El Fna but it was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was fantastic and the rooms and riad were very clean. The owner Stephane was very kind and helpful, he took his time to speak to all of the guests over breakfast and gave us many useful tips and guidelines. We had an early flight leaving Marrakech the last day and even got served breakfast at 5am! Definitely a place to return to :)

The riad door opens and you're welcomed in with warm smiles and sweet tea. Stephane, the owner is a wealth of knowledge about Marrakech and you'd do well to pay attention to his advice- his recommendations felt like being let in on the secrets of the city.

The room was gorgeous, perfectly comfortable and air- conditioned. We felt at home in an instant. The staff are all friendly and eager to help where they can. Breakfast was wonderful, dinner on our last night was truly special- all in all, a perfect stay. But it's stephane that takes it that step further, making it a wonderfully special place to stay.

We stayed at Riad Alamir for 5 nights in August 2010. We decided to stay after reading the positive reviews on this site & it definately lived up to our expectations. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, as are the communal areas, and the staff are excellent. The owner, Stephane is really friendly and knowledgeable of the area, and can point you in the right direction if you're new to Marrakech as we were. I would say that he went out of his way to make sure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

I would definitely recommend Riad Alamir to anyone planning a visit to Marrakech as its
location is ideal and the relaxed and friedly atmosphere inside is just what you need after a day out and about. A dip in the pool and a mint tea helps too!
