“Wonderful, staff, comfortable room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

We loved having breakfast on the sunny terrace, and our room was a quiet refuge from the craziness of the Marrakech medina. The staff speak very little English, and we speak very little French, but they bent over backwards to help us find our way around the city and answer any questions we had.

Bear in mind that Riad Morgane is nearly impossible to find on your own. It's tucked back in a series of side streets and alleys on the edge of the Medina. You can either pay the hotel an extra 10 euros for an airport pickup, or pay a tout on the street to guide you there.

We were there in November when the nights were quite cold, and were provided with extra blankets to make sleeping a bit cozier. However, the room was not heated, and the hot water in the shower only lasts about 25 seconds, so wash fast!

We chose to stay at Riad Morgane based on the very positive reviews and were left underwhelmed by the experience. It was average at best. The rooms are very clean and it is a peaceful environment. However due to the nature of a Riad (ie all rooms facing in) there are no windows and if you dont have earplugs you may well be woken by other guests or staff. Our bathroom didn't have a door. I don't really enjoy listening to anyone using the toilet. There was no hot water for the enormous bath and breakfast of pancake and toasted bread with jams was mediocre. Cash only payment is a pain, it seems to be an ongoing problem and I suspect they have never had a credit card reader. We were given a map and transport to the airport was organised for us which was a help.

Overall this hotel is adequate but I don't believe it's worthy of all the superlatives graced upon it.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a door to the bathroom!

Tucked away behind the mosque this is a quiet and lovely spot in which to base yourself for a couple of days sight seeing. Welcoming friendly owners and a real Moroccan ambience. We loved this riad and highly recommend it to any seeking some peace and quiet. Our room had a huge ensuite bath which took ages to fill but was well worth the wait!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floor

Marrakech can be a hectic, crazy place, but Riad Morgane is an oasis amidst all of it. The area immediately surrounding the property is bustling and full of life, but inside it's calm, clean, and very comforting. Breakfast was particularly enjoyable and the perfect way to start the day before heading off into enchanting Marrakech. A staff member even gave us some special tea that was incredibly delicious.

The staff are non-intrusive but provide great service. English is limited but it doesn't matter so much because they are extremely helpful regardless of the language barrier.

Hotel is also a great value.

I stayed for 3 nights and was allowed to stay a few extra hours on my last day because I had a late flight. It was a nice way to cap off a relaxing trip in Marrakech. Highly recommended city and hotel!

We were 2 couples and stayed there for 2 nights - what a great place. Very very welcoming and friendly, spotless clean. An Oasis in the madness of the Medina. Breakfast, served on the rof terrace was very agreable. There were sun loungers there but we did not use them prefering the shade of the Plunge pool in the courtyard on ground floor

The plunge pool was very welcoming and great after a day out in the Souks and Sun. Would definitely recommend this Riad and certainly stay there again.

Only down side when we were there was that Patrick's credit card reader was not working so we had to get cash form the bank to pay.

Room Tip: The rooms on the ground floor open directly onto the Plunge pool IMO the rooms on the 1st Floor are...

We are a group of friends who booked the Riad in its entirity for my 40th birthday. From the moment we arrived Patrick, Ibtissan and Mohammed made us all feel extremely welcome. The rooms are all individually decorated with moroccan style bathrooms.
Nothing was too much trouble from choosing our own breakfast times to having drinks when we arrived in after a night out.
We had booked a meal with musicians and belly dancers for the Saturday night and they pulled out all the stops. The table looked exquisite, the food excellent and plentiful and the musicians and belly dancer a lot of fun.
The location is in a busy residential area, only a 10 minute walk from the square.
There is so much I could say about the quality of this Riad, I cannot recommend it enough.
Thankyou Patrick, Ibtissam and Mohammed for making our stay wonderful.

After a disastrous 1st day in Marrakech (due to our Easy jet booked Riad not picking us up from the airport then not answering the door for two hours !) we were guided to Riad Morgane by two locals as an alternative. From the moment I stepped through the beautiful door I knew things had worked out for the best, the rooms were all excellent (very clean and well equipped). The staff were amazing and although we didn’t speak French and they couldn’t speak much English, they were amazing and made us feel right at home. Riad Morgane is just a 10 minute walk to Place Jamaa El Fna and the Souks. We loved it so much we made our next booking within two hours of arriving home.
