i just came back from this hotel 5 nights in marrakech with my family-all adults. I read the reviews on this site and made my booking.

The taxi from airport to hotel should cost 100 dirhams-if not 80, and to and from the city centre to the hotel should be 20 but can range from 20-40-you have to barter for everything in this city and it is very annoying as you don't know whether things are being sold to you at appropriate prices or not! horse and carriage can be found in front of the hotel-and we were charged 140 dirhams for a tour of the city-which is probably on the expensive side but that's all we managed to reduce the rate from 300 to! Taxis are readily available in the road in front of the hotel.

the hotel was excellent! we really enjoyed our stay and after staying in some excellent hotels in the past I would recommend this hotel without a doubt. It is very true that it is not too close to the main square but not too far. But we had a look at the hotels around the main square known as "riads" with small swimming pools and of a good standard but were not impressed. Also you don't want to live in the city centre-it is very very caotic and coming back to this hotel was such a pleasure for all of us!! From the main square the hotel is a lovely walk through palm trees and expensive hotels and restaurants-around 10 minutes.

our two double rooms were spotless-lovely clean sheets-lovely soft pillows!!! very enjoyable. a very very good 4* hotel-nearing 5* it just needed marble!! there are tea and coffee facilities in the room and complimentary biscuits provided. The rooms come with a shower and a large bathtub-and a separate toilet facility.

Breakfast was excellent-constantly being replenished-and staff are very helpful in bringing things that were finishing. Breakfast included orange juice/tea/coffee/hot chocolate/milk/cornflakes/yoghurts//cake/fresh plain and chocolate croissants/boiled egg/salami/dates/buns. very very delicious we really enjoyed filling ourselves up!

there is a small gym in the hotel-very clean.

the worst thing about the hotel is the language barrier-having come from the uk we can not speak French or Arabic and we found it hard to communicate with staff so that they understood our requests. But staff were very very polite and those that could speak english were very helpful and friendly!!!!!!! Downside was finding out from staff what tourist attractions we could visit etc was difficult but our Lonely planet guide and other Marrakech books helped up to an extent in this respect!

highly recommend this hotel and will recommend it to all friends-felt very new-and recommend it to UK guests wholeheartedly especially if you take a guide book of marrakech with you! Enjoy!

Average hotel with very average staff, as a non speaking French person it was difficult to communicate with any of the staff if you had any issues. Firstly the breakfasts were great served from 8 till 12 on weekends and 8 till 11 on weekdays. The room was ok, we were hardly in it, but be aware there were no balconies so you can’t chill and have a glass of wine in the evening. Alcohol is really expensive in the hotel probably due to the fact that the hotel is mostly catering for Muslims holidaying and not the British market (yet). The pool is small and very busy; the hotel has a high turn over of clients which is interesting and annoying at the same time, beds are a huge issue if you want a tan, no cushion covers for 4 out of 7 days - due to dry cleaning - makes you wonder, I think they were just lazy or cheap. The pool guy was disinterested in independent western women with 2 kids so we just circumvented him and when straight to the manager, who was polite but very slow in dealing with our issues.
The hotel is in a great area 15 mins walk to the main square.........but my advice is if you can afford is book the Sofiotel across the road and get the pool of your dreams and reception staff who know how to do their job, it really isn’t that much more expensive! I know I will if given the choice again and I will be back just not to this hotel.
To this hotel a taxi from the airport is no more than 200 and the horse and buggy should be about 50 into the square, you can get a petit taxi to the main supermarket for 30 each way and that’s where to get your wine – chilled in the fridge provided and above all take Imodium - and try Chez Chegroni north west of the main square and enjoy the senses overload which is Marrakesh.

we had a wonderful time at this hotel. The breakfast was excellent. The location was ideal - quiet but within walking distance of main square and shopping areas. The Manager was First Class - when my daughter had difficulty retrieving her school homework on the computer he managed to find it and print it off for her. He was always around the hotel making sure the staff and the services were available for the guests. The swimming pool was an added bonus - very clean and always plenty of towels. Can't wait to go back.
