“Authentic and well worth the visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

We are a family of 5, but 3 young kids. We wanted to do something different on the night as the hustle of Jemma El Fna was too much for us as a young family. This was a great choice and we only found out about it from baedekers guide book. It's certainly tucked away but everything from the cloaked figure who comes to guide you from the nearest alleyway through the final few streets, the walk around this exotic merchant's house, the opulent atmosphere, the decent food and the inclusive price of 'petit diner' with soft drinks, aperitifs and 1/2 bottle of wine each (and good Moroccan rose), this is a good all round choice for 350 dirham per person. The team were efficient and courteous and whilst only my wife and I ordered the petit diner the staff brought extra plates and fruit punch for the little ones as they shared our meal at no extra cost. Food was plentiful for all.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

This place is amazing. We were recommended this by our Riad host for my 40th birthday...We booked in advance and was given the best seat in the place...We were met in the street by the guide who took us to our destination.Amazing staff and service and really good value for money..We had the petite Meal deal which was a nice selection of Moroccan starters and I had the Pigeon Pie which was light and fluffy and great taste with amazing light pastry..Came with a aperitifs and half bottle of wine...Beautiful location and setting with Amazing service...Great Tagines and delicious sweets....Creme brule was fantastic and the whole dining experience was awesome.....Book in advance

“Lovely ambience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014

We sort out the restaurant by day but there was no need as when we arrived outside the maze of alleys that lead to the restaurant, there was a "greeter" who guide us. The atmosphere was pleasant and the tables were set around to central courtyard.
The service was professional and attentive.
Wine was reasonably priced and the menu was as to be expected...same as everywhere else we have eaten, but the food was tasty.
The price was fair.

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2014

It certainly isn't easy to find. We walked past the little lane to it twice but we were so pleased we persevered. It's a lovely setting. We were encouraged to look around the house which was lovely with a great open roof which you could walk round and see the rest of the medina from. The food was a set menu with a few choices for each course. Included in the cost was an appartif, bottle of wine and traditional tea after the meal. The food was lovely and very authentic. We had a selection of cold starters, chicken tangine and then a sweet pastry dessert. There was also nibbles and breads served to us. The services was very refined. It certainly made us feel that we were really getting a true morrocan experience. And the cost was very reasonable. We would definitely recommend a visit. I would say it was my favorite experience while I was in Marrakech. Just to make our visit even more pleasant when we left the restaurant the manager came out with us and we thought he was going to direct us to where we could get a taxi. What he actually did was take us to his car and then drive us back to our hotel himself. He would accept nothing in return for his generous actions so I would like to say a special thank you to him.

“Quiet and Calm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

I would recommend this restaurant for visitors who are not greatly experienced in Moroccan food.
The food is simple, classic and good. The ambiance is quiet and restrained and thankfully does not have the theatre and razzmatazz that some of its competitors 'boast'.
The French only menu could be better explained, some English guests were complaining about the price but patently did not understand everything that the price included ; pre-dinner drinks & appetizers, three dinner courses, water, a bottle of wine and coffee. We thought this was very good valueindeed.
The staff were excellent, unobtrusive with good interpersonal skills.
An enjoyable, relaxing, quiet evening.
