“Fantastic Marrakech hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

From the escort from rue Laksour to the restaurant throughout the evening, we were well looked after in a fascinating and charmingly appointed riad. The host was superb, the service everything one could ask for, value for money and flavour at its best. If you like Moroccan food, then an evening at Ksar Es Saoussan will hit the spot.

“Divine Moroccan Feast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

My boyfriend and I called up this restaurant 1 hour before dining and they gladly took us. I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant is quite small. It's also worth letting them know that you are coming as this place is difficult to find due to the windy streets, however, you are greeted on the main road where the taxi drops you off by a man in a red robe. He guides you down medieval alleyways to the entrance of the restaurant. The restaurant is set in a beautiful 17th century building and the waiter asks if you want to take a quick tour - definitely do that! The two floors above are filled with old relics, furniture and tiles. We were seated in a quaint corner table, which made for a romantic evening. There are 3 set menu options - a light dinner, a regular dinner and a heavy dinner. We went for the regular one - 450 dirham pp - which included 4 courses, a bottle of wine, an aperitif and tea/biscuits. It was exceptional and a huge amount of food, but we tried every dish! The first course was 10 different "salad" dishes followed by a chicken tajine (special of the night) and a beef couscous. The dessert was a pastilla - a real Moroccan treat! Enjoy!!!

“Copious portions, great food and excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

When it comes to restaurants, food is the most important thing to me. The food at this restaurant is very good (not as good as Al Fassia, but still excellent). The morroccan salads (in particular the tomate confits) were delicious.

You have the option of choosing between three fixed menus (varying in size and price) which include an aperitif and a half bottle of wine per person.

The atmosphere and locale is very charming, welcoming and laid-back. Upon your arrival, you are offered a tour of the house in which it is located. The restaurant was purchased and renovated by a french owner in the late 80s. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and sincere. The waiter who has worked there for 14 years was more than happy to answer my mother's million and one questions about the menu, the ingredients, morroccan culture, arabic, the restaurant etc. I highly recommend going to this restaurant.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

This has been a pleasant surprise. Small Moroccan restaurant in the Medina not too easy to find, but full of charme and with a good selection of menu of tasty moroccan food
The service is friendly and ready to help.

Amazing abd authentic building. Service is at a discrete perfection. Food is yummy, price are cheap for what you get. Nevertheless Expect at least 300dhm per person for a great experience
