My husband and I reserved two nights here, and then extended for a week. We loved this Ryad. It's right in the medina, within easy walking distance to restaurants, the souks and Jmaa el Fna, but also quiet and peaceful at night. Youssef was the perfect host. He showed us how to navigate the alleys, which turned out to be easy and very safe even at night. He greeted us with tea, coffee, beer/wine and pastries, which we had by the candlelit pool at night and also on the roof top terrace in the afternoons. Our room was lovely, quiet and immaculately cleaned every day. We explored Marrakesh by foot during the days, and Youssef even arranged a day trip up to the mountains for us. We tried a different restaurant every night - by far though, our best meal in Marrakesh was at the Ryad. We highly recommend staying at Ryad Noura.

I stayed here for 2 nights with a large group of guys. Upon arrival we were abit taken aback due to the narrow and one or two dimlit alleyways we had to navigate to get to the hotel. However upon entering we were greeting by yousif who helps run the ryad, he was extremely helpful and welcoming. We had to change the number of nights we were staying and then we had to get an extra bed at the last min and both were no problem. He was also fine if we wanted to have breakfast late or early. The rooms were compact but large enough and very nice. The hotel is ideal for couples looking for something authentic and romantic. Even on the outside of the ryad, once you navigate through the winding alleyways once or twice the trip is easy, we also felt very safe even coming back at a late hour.

We arrived in Marrakech to be greeted by Youssef, who looked after us during our stay. I must admit that we were slightly concerned when we followed him down narrow streets and dark alleys, however, when the door opened up to reveal an oasis amonst the chaos of the medina, we were delighted!

Breakfast was superb on the roof terrace, room was lovely and both Youssef and Caryl the owner were fantastic hosts, recommending restaurants, hammans and places to go (and walking us to some of them!).

We enjoyed chilling out on the terrace and downstairs around the plunge pool.

Our only criticism would be that you need to be confident to navigate the winding streets back late at night, as it's a 15 minute walk from the main square.

Other than that we had an amazing stay, and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

A beaming smile and a friendly handshake at the airport was our first experience of Ryad Noura.

After a gentle and informative drive into the Medina with Yusuf, we arrived at the Ryad to another friendly welcome from Caryl, the owner.

Glasses of sweet and very refreshing mint tea magically appeared and delicate Moroccan sweets were served as we filled in the (obligatory) registration paper.

Ryad Noura exudes a wonderful calmness, with thoughtful decoration and carefully chosen embellishments as well as the plunge pool, palm tree and plenty of thoughtfully placed pouffes, couches and seats to relax on. A cosmopolitan collection of magazines and books assures that you will not be bored.

For anyone that simply has to get some work done, or make calls, there is excellent wi-fi and great mobile reception.

Part of the charm of this Ryad is how kindly and helpful both Yusuf and Caryl and the rest of the staff are: as it was our first time in Marrakech, we were presented with a map, shown the best places to eat and visit and what to look out for (and what to avoid!). We were then guided down to ‘The Square’, the Place dJemaa el-Fna by Yusuf, both to look around and to eat. We were given detailed instructions on how to get back + a mobile number ‘for any eventuality’. Directions were perfect, so the number was never needed.

Upon our return, we were offered coffee, mint tea and delicate nibbles; nothing was too much trouble

Tucked away as it is in the depths of the historic Medina, there is little noise bar the occasional (but muted) muezzin to disturb you, and not a whisper of traffic. On our first morning, having closed the shutters, the day was well advanced before we awoke from a totally undisturbed sleep. Fortunately the ever kindly Yusuf is used to such happenings and a delicious breakfast of honey pancakes, freshly pressed orange juice and delectable coffee (or tea / chocolate) was produced, despite the late hour.

Ryad Noura has 4 guest rooms and even when full, it is hard to tell. All rooms are beautifully furnished in traditional Moroccan style, with European essentials blended in. All rooms have an air conditioner / heater when required and there is plenty of space to sit around the Ryad and on the secluded roof terrace.

Evening meals and lunch are possible by prior arrangement, but most guests eat out in restaurants locally or in the square, a 15 minute walk away.

Marrakech is a true experience, even after travelling in many parts of North Africa. The Ryad was a haven of tranquillity and Yusuf and Caryl never failed to make us welcome on our return, whatever the time.

We were truly sad to leave this wonderful Ryad and will surely return many times.

Heartily recommended!

I just came back from am 11-day tour of Morocco, where one of my favorite parts of my trip was Riad Noura in Marrakesh.

The riad was absolutely charming: intimate, warm and inviting, and the food was excellent, (my favorites were the zucchini with bechamel and lamb tagine with prunes) but what made it so memorable was Youssef. Youssef deserves high accolades and stands out as one of my favorite people met on my trip. His kind demeanor, helpfulness and attention to detail are unparalleled. I STRONGLY recommend this riad (as long as Youssef is still there!) to anyone wishing to stay in Marrakesh.

Some French friends had planned to meet me in Marrakesh but had booked another hotel. Once they realized that their hotel was not in the medina, we made a quick call to Youssef, who was able to get them a room the next night. He took care of them with the same kindness and dedication as he did of me, and they loved their stay as much as I did.

Simba, the resident cat, is also a charmer :)

Had a really great stay at Ryad Noura recently with my partner. We arrived at the airport and Joseph was there waiting to pick us up, he took us back amongst the winding alleyways, sat us down with a map and gave us some breakfast and advice about where to go, how to get there and how much everything should cost. The Ryad was relaxed, hassle free and someone was always at hand to get you anything you needed, give advice or book a trip. The breakfasts were also delicious and all part of the price of the room.

The Ryad is well situated (once you have mastered the route through the alleyways), it took about 15 mins to walk to Djemaa el Fna (the big square) and longer if you went straight through the souks. We took taxi's sometimes as it was cheap and easy. We also took a trip to the Atlas mountains and hiked to the waterfalls (quite steep and hairy at times) and this was organised via the ryad (watch out for the hidden costs in the excursion). We also booked through the ryad a hammam at Bains De Sinbad which was well worth it and after some shopping around we decided that it was the best deal.

Marrakech is a busy, dirty, noisy, chaotic but wonderful place and we had a really great stay at Ryad Noura. Just be prepared that everything will have a separate price including taking a photograph in the street.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Ryad Noura for 4 nights at the start of our trip to Morocco. We loved it so much that we returned here for another 2 nights later in our trip. I would recommend this place to anybody visiting Marrakech.

Location
The Ryad is in the heart of the old medina (near Sidi Ben Slimman as a point of reference). Away from the more tourist orientated south medina it is in a friendly, quiet neighborhood inhabited mostly by locals. It is also a better place to pick up shopping bargains and cheap food (since many of the shops sell to locals). The Ryad is down an alleyway which at first seems confusing and perhaps a little shady. In fact it is quite easy to navigate and very safe (this seems to be true of all of the narrow alleyways of the medina which we spent a great deal of time down when lost). It is about 15 minutes walk through the souks to Djeema El Fna or a 10-15 MAD taxi ride. Youssef very kindly picked us up from the airport and took us out for an orientation tour of the city on the first night (for free). The only difficulty we found was returning by foot after about 10pm when the souks begin to close (some alleys are shut off and the others are dark and empty).

The Ryad
The photos speak for themselves. Beautiful courtyard, especially at night with a nice cool plunge pool and plenty of comfy seating for relaxing. We stayed in 3 different rooms, each with a unique style. All rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean, comfortable and have hot running water. Suite Chakira is a good size with a fairly large bathroom and shower, separated from the bedroom by a curtained doorway. It has no air conditioning. Being on the ground floor it is a little less private than the others. Suite Noura is prettier, more private on the first floor and has air conditioning. Potentially a problem is that the bathroom opens in to the bedroom so this room is best suited to couples who aren't worried about toilet and showering privacy. Chambre Samira is on the first floor, air conditioned and larger, with a porch area, large wardrobe (lacking in the other rooms) and separate bathroom (much more private). It is probably the most elegantly decorated too.

Staff & Service
This is where Ryad Noura really shines. The owner is very friendly and helpful but most of our contact was with Youssef who deserves very high praise. He really made our stay one of the easiest, most comfortable and most enjoyable experiences in Morocco. Being picked up and dropped off at the airport was a huge help, as was the brief tour of the area on the first night. His advice on places to visit, places to shop, souvenir prices and onward travel was superb. He will purchase bus tickets, pick them up for you, help you negotiate a taxi (something we actually rather enjoyed doing ourselves) and really go out of his way to help you in any way he can. We tipped him a few hundred MAD at the end of our trip but he, refreshingly, never asked for any money. He is fluent in French and Arabic and is currently learning English (very quickly!) - communication was never too much of a problem and we got the impression he quite enjoyed learning from us. The owner speaks good English. All in all the service was nothing short of brilliant and some of our best memories of the holiday are of evenings chatting with Youssef.

Food & Drink
We preferred to sample different restaurants around Marrakech in the evening so cannot comment on the lunch / dinner menu. However, if the complimentary breakfast is anything to go by I am sure it would be superb. Served on the roof patio breakfast consists of amazing fresh orange juice, mint tea or coffee, a big french baguette, amazing fruit jams (especially the fig jam), a crepe and a fried egg. Truly delicious! The Ryad serves beer (a small can of Moroccan Flag Speciale is about 20-30 MAD) and has a selection of wines.

Internet
Free WIFI throughout. My phone sometimes struggled with wireless reception in the rooms but when connected speeds were good.

Overall
A hidden gem which is very highly recommended, especially for couples.
