horrrrrrrrriiiiible bunch of liars rude and thives avoid please this hotel stay away from it they are not worthy of even 1 star hotel. bad smell in the room, dirty rooms and carpets, and the service is horrible. the shower is always broken. by the way never seen this before they ll charge u for drinks even water in buffet food. the room is messy with people s hair everywhere and the smeel is unbearable.
the pool is overcrowded not because of the hotels guests but because they allow people to come in as part of their mini club day, so kiss goodbye to being relax and enjoying ur stay.
the pool is also veryyy dirty

Room Tip: try to avoid rooms in this hotel

We spent a week in mid-July at Palm Plaza Hotel and Spa and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are a good size for someone like us who do not like being out in the sun ALL day long and very comfy with the all-important air conditioning. The rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard and towels and toiletries replaced as necessary.
Hotel:
The real bonus is a large swimming pool and gardens which were never crowded with a large selection of palm trees, shrubs and flowers and a small children’s play area; all surrounded by a high security wall that helped you feel secure. The pool attendant keeps the pool and area very clean and issues towels and will help put up the umbrellas and move the sun loungers to suit. There is also a pool bar that provides snacks and drinks. The room service is good but do not expect UK 5 star experience as you will not get it and indeed you are not paying that tariff. The hotel staff were all very warm and friendly and only too pleased to help you in any way they can. Ilham in particular gave us much help in planning our arrival and stay. Indeed we booked the airport transfer through Ilham although a taxi would only cost about 150 dirhams (MAD) = approx £11.50.
Location:
We read the usual Trip adviser ‘moaners’ and while you cannot please all of the people all of the time you have to respect and expect different standards but the Palm Plaza didn’t disappoint us. We did look at a Riad in the middle of Marrakech but while the city offers the location and the atmosphere some Riads do not have pools or aircon and so the Palm Plaza is excellently placed on the outskirts of the city with a plentiful supply of taxis for about 50 MAD (£3.50).
Our week coincided with Ramadan and so only one of the three restaurants was open. We got to the hotel about 21.00 hrs before we got to the restaurant to eat. The Manager kindly arranged that some food was freshly cooked for us. Breakfast is continental style and while you do have to remind the staff occasionally that something has run out there is a wide section of fruit, bread, cakes and cereals available.
Spa:
My wife had the best Spa treatment she has had and again the Palm Plaza staff could not do enough to make her experience more enjoyable. She was so pleased with the service that she sent me back down to give the two beauticians/masseurs a very good tip as the treatment was so superior to others she had received whilst on holiday.
Late checkout:
The hotel was very good when asked if we could have a late checkout as our flight was not due to take off until 20.00 hrs and thus allowed us to have a final dip in the pool and soak up the sun until we had to sadly leave at 16.00 hrs.
Food:
The evening meal while delicious was very repetitive but as we ate out on a number of evenings this didn’t spoil our time. Indeed there is a Carrefour supermarket with a few hundred yards where you can buy fruit and water quite cheaply and there is a coffee shop and wide selection of clothes shops.
A must see is the Restaurant Dar Essalam situated in a 17th Century palace were the buffet meal includes music and dance. Get there early before the local tourist guide trip takes up most of the seating.
A must see is the Jemaa el Fna square where during the day you can visit the market stalls but at night the food stall holders appear and if you can out up with hundreds of locals plying that their food is best, just pick one you like and you won’t be disappointed. We had a three course dinner for two for 250 MAD ((£17.50).
Tours:
We also used New Direction Travel for a half day tour of Marrakech and Kamal was very knowledgeable and helpful in pointing out the sites of the city and its surroundings. A half day tour cost about 500 MAD (£30) for the two of us and helped orientate ourselves to the city.
We also stopped off at Starbucks where we had the standard coffee and carrot cake.
Negatives:
We stayed during Ramadan and two of the three restaurants were not open neither were the hotel shops so we can’t comment on these.
As said previously, there was only a buffet meal available in the evenings, and as it was Ramadan, everyone descended on the restaurant at the same time. If you got behind these guests, there was a poor selection of food left at the buffet.
Disabled facilities:
My wife has difficulty walking without a frame and the large number of ramps throughout the grounds and hotel for both disabled and pushchair users were very welcome. The bath though was slippery and quite high so we had to take extra care using this and the shower.
The beauticians in the Spa noticed that I had difficulty walking and they kindly changed around their whole set-up for me to have a manicure and pedicure at their very large sofa within the reception area of the spa. Nothing was too much trouble.
Similarly during meals the waiters would come and take away our drinks or plates with food and take them to our table to ensure that my wife didn’t have to struggle carrying them herself.
Getting there:
Finally using Easyjet from Bristol was a breeze and the airport at Marrakech while small is well equipped and easy to use.
Finally:
The people of Morocco are very warm and friendly and will help you if required. What are you waiting for, make Marrakech and the Palm Plaza your next holiday destination.

Room Tip: As for a pool view on the 2nd floor.

We spent a week at the MPC after hiking in the Atlas Mountains. The property is very clean and well maintained. The front desk staff always friendly and helpful. We had a 2 bedroom apt and it was perfect for 4 people. A market just down the block was a huge bonus. It is about 45 minute walk to the square in the Medina but we did it with ease daily. They provide everything except dish soap and bath soap but easy to get at mkt. the private courtyards out back were nice to enjoy coffee each morning. The AC worked brilliantly.
The very hard working staff were always accommodating and friendly.
We would stay here again as a hotel or timeshare!

Room Tip: We stayed in 2 units one on bottom floor and one on top. Both were great!

Stayed here at the end of June/start of September (during Ramadan) and had a lovely stay over all. Only one of the restaurants and the snack bar was open during our stay and although it was nice I wouldn't class it as five star by any stretch. However the snack bar was decent and had a fair range as well as delicious cocktails. All of this with regards to the food we expected due to the fact that it was a time of fasting and had seen a similar review stating this was the case during Ramadan.

The spa was lovely and over all the staff (housekeeping, bar and restaurant, and spa) were lovely and couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.

My one serious issue was the terrible attitude of the women reception. They were aloof, bored, gave the briefest and most unhelpful responses to enquiries. Any time I enquired about anything I felt like I was interrupting their chat.

At one point I left my wallet down and some good soul handed it in to reception. In my panic I ran to reception to ask had it been handed in. The lady barely looked up, and said no. I then scoured the hotel and returned to ask could she contact the woman who worked in the shop to see had I left it there. This was unsuccessful and I asked again had anyone handed it in. I was told no and I thanked her and went to leave and then she said let me check lost and found (a drawer she didn't even need to move to reach). It had been there the whole time but she had been too lazy to check. She also had the cheek to shout across the reception that I was welcome, in a very sarcastic tone and in front of staff and guests. To be honest when it takes someone a half an hour to do their job, I don't feel like showering them with praise.

Reception really needs to lose the sign which says 'concierge' as they are not at all bothered about helping guests enjoy their stay and really let down the beautiful hotel and fabulous staff in the other areas of the palm plaza.

Just got back from marrakech with my family and stayed at this hotel. Lovely hotel to relax. Beautiful lobby and The rooms were lovely; big, spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and Swimming pool was nice. There's a free hourly shuttlebus to the medina everyday which was very convenient. There is also a shopping mall next door which has a French supermarket which came in very handy. All in all can't complain, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again!
