“Marrakech Magic”

Kechmara Riad is run by Fati and Georges in a great location in the centre of Marrakech (Medina), about a 5 minute walk from the edges of the Grand Souk in a quiet part of town. The welcome we got was fantastic – you were immediately made to feel at home by Fati and her staff and there is a really relaxed atmosphere about the place which makes you relax straight away. We had mint tea and pastries on the roof upon arrival and as some of us were first timers to Marrakech Fati joined us and gave us the low down on where to go what to do, the best restaurants from both a “real Moroccan” perspective as well as from a “we want to spoil ourselves” perspective! While we were there Fati and Georges invited us for dinner in the riad with some of their friends one evening and we got to help out in making a real tagine with her chef! It was a wonderful evening - the food was great, as was the company - a very generous thing for Fati and Georges to offer and typical of their attitude towards their guests.

The rooms are all furnished to a high standard with good attention to detail and cleanliness. The breakfast in the morning on the roof was fantastic and very relaxed. There is also space up on the roof for relaxing either in the sun or at night after you have been out for the evening and just want to relax on sofas under the stars… it’s a great plus. Fati helped organise transport to and from the airport for us and also dropped us off at the cab rank to when we left for Essouaira! These guys work really hard to make sure you have a relaxed and enjoyable time. I am definitely going back for more!

the perfect place where to stay in Marrakech. Forget the hotels, clubs and "all in" you can find on the Internet, go to this fantastic riad where you feel like home. Amazing as soon as you arrive Fati and Georges offer you the keys of Paradise!!! ideal location in the medina, 5 min walk from the unique place Djemaa ef fna and the beautiful Koutoubia. This relaxing oasis is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Furthermore, Fati and Georges
do everything possible to make your stay unforgetable! You will find very difficult to give them back the keys...

My girlfriend and I spent 8 days in this Riad. Georges and Fati made everything to have their guests feel like home: the decoration of the Riad is refined, the rooms are warm and very independent, and the people working there are so nice.

After a few hours we already felt like home. Fati and Georges were also great advisors when we wanted to go on journeys, or buy some goods in the souk.

We will definitely come back.

Spent 4 days with another couple of friends in October 2008 at Riad Kechmara.
Everything about the accomodation is terrific: the location, the rooms, the food (crepes in the morning on the roof terrace is a must!), the service... you name it...

The owners Fati and Georges are wonderful of kindness and so good at sharing all those good tips about Marrakech and the surroundings that you feel "home" after the first few minutes!! And best of all, everything could be organised and customised for you!!

Highly recommended!

I wanted to stay at Dar Silsila (see reviews), but it was full, so I stayed in the riad just down the street.

I have stayed in several hotels and riads in Marrakech. This was one of the friendliest, most welcoming, and best value for money I have been to.

Riad Kechmara (Marra -kech bacwards) is owned and run by an international couple George (french) and Fati (moroccan). They really went out of their way to give us the real Moroccan experience, making sure that we were happy and wanting for nothing,

We were met by a chauffer at the airportg and accompanied to the riad, given mint tea and shown our rooms. At least one of the staff spoke fluent english.

They riad is very comfortable and morocan style with all the normal comforts we are used to. There is a pool in the center of the patio and all the rooms look on the central courtyard patio from the balcony. Each room is authentically decorated, each with its own distinctive moroccan style, and all have an en-suite bathroom.

The rooms are clean and comfortable and are furnished with local funiture.

There are several living rooms/Dining rooms. Meals including local dishes are available and served in the dining room. TYhe food is very good quality and authentic. Fati used to be a restauranteur in Paris.

Fati and George went out of their way organising trips and excusions, getting reservations for trips etc. They took us out one night wwith them to sample some of the local nightlife. I was really struck by this...I have never been to any hotel or guest house where the owners took us out.

I have no hestitation recommending this riad, espcially to the first time visitor to Marrakech.
