“A sumptuous riad with a quiet and relaxing feel to it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

We arrived late but were met with a smiling face. The room off the central courtyard was very cosy and the highlight was the bathroom area- particularly the luxurious shower. Breakfast was fine and service was friendly and this riad is good for those wanting a taste of Morocco with a European tilt.

We arrived after a long way from Fes, seven hours in the train, Amin (the receptionist) received us with a great smile and a refresh mint tea, showed us to our room, it was perfect for me and my husband. We stayed for two nights, went to the desert for three days and come back, he welcome us with his familiar smile, we stayed for two nights more, the place is incredeble cozy, clean, enough to experience what is to be in a really morrocan house, took the Hamma massage, wow, both ladys were nice.
I personally recomended this place the staff could not do enough to make you fell good, on our morning to departure to the desert Amin woke up at 6:00 am to fixed us breakfast so we wont leave on an empty stomage

Room Tip: We stay in two rooms one on the firts floor and one on te second floor both were very comfortable.

We stayed here a few weeks ago for a short break, a total of 4 nights and we couldn't fault the place. All the staff, including the owners were extremely helpful, in fact nothing was too much trouble. The room, Dounia, was clean and spacious enough, and being on the first floor, quiet. It's a little out of the way with a ten minute walk to the main square, but we thought this was perfect, being far enough away so as not to be disturbed by the hustle and bustle.

We took the Atlas mountains and Sahara trip organised by the hotel which is well recommended. Watching the sunrise in the Sahara was fabulous.

In short, great place, great people and great location. Perfect for a short break.

Stayed here for one night before departing for Imlil for a week's trekking in the Atlas mountains. The rooms are clean and pleasant. Staff were extremely helpful - Emile in particular could not do enough to help us during our short stay. Great location. Recommended for a short stay.

We had a large, clean bedroom and bathroom, which had up to date fixtures and furnishings. There was a small TV and ample closet and storage space, and the room was very atmospheric with Moroccan fixtures and furnishings. The bathroom was roomy and had a large shower stall with bench. There was no shower curtain, but the stall was large enough so that a careful person would not get water all over the place. There was lots of counter space next to the sink for toiletries, and plenty of towel bars and hooks. The room had good wifi and lighting in the bedroom. Breakfast consisted of juice, coffee, small yogurt, fried bread, pastries and regular bread. Another morning we had eggs in place of pastries. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and spoke adequate English. Typical of a riad, there were no outside windows, but we had one that faced the interior courtyard. The riad is within the medina walls and about a 15 minute walk to La Place.

There were a couple of minor inconveniences. The bathroom was very dim for it only had one low wattage light bulb overhead, so it was difficult to shave and apply makeup. The AC was barely adequate, but granted when we were there it was about 100 degrees (F) during the day. Our room was right around the corner from the front door and reception, and was right off the interior courtyard which had tables and chairs for guests. One night we couldn't sleep because of people talking in the courtyard until midnight, and also because of the noise of returning guests coming through the front door.

Room Tip: Our room, which was right around the corner from reception, may be noisy.

My fiance and I had a wonderful time at this Riad. We have to work while we travel (we work online), and spent the heat of the day in a beautiful cool alcove, drinking mint tea and listening to Moroccan music - not a bad office! In the evenings we were located about a 10 -15 min walk to the major plaza, and a close walk to the souks. We always loved returning to the peace of the Riad after exploring the city! We really felt at home, and they even did our laundry (which is amazing when you are on the road for a long time!) Overall the place was great value, super clean, friendly and comfortable.

Love this place. For the price, you will feel like you scored a some sort of a big deal and a secret that no one else knows about. This place is very nice and sophisticated. Probably had the best continental breakfast of anywhere I had stayed in town. Food kept coming. My room was clean, beautifully decorated, bathrooms beautiful. Don’t miss the terrace on the roof which is beautiful as well with inviting furniture arrangements to get to curl up with the one you love or get to know other travelers. I truly loved this place and it wasn’t very difficult to find. Only downside is that I came in expecting to have this major big traditional Moroccan meal served for me and somehow the message was not passed on to the cook who left early and I went with nothing for dinner. That was disappointing, but the place was so nice and staff so kind I couldn’t hardly hold it against them. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!
