Riad Laazane is a decent and inexpensive place to stay with no frills. We stayed there for 5 nights in a basic double room, which cost us around £9 each per night (cheap for Marrakech).
The room was as described - small and basic, with one double bed, a single bed, some storage, and a fan. It was comfortable and clean with 2 shared bathrooms. Sometimes the bathrooms were not always clean and often ran out of toilet paper. The rooms were very hot, and stayed hot at night as we were not able to air out our room during the daytime due to locking it. However the riad is very quiet. There is a washing machine and a kitchen, and a roof terrace. Staff are very friendly and speak very good English, French and Spanish (and Arabic of course). Location is good as it's about 7/8 minutes from the square.
My only big problem is that this particular riad is really difficult to find... It's down a number of winding alleys that you would never expect a riad to be down, and the instructions provided by the staff on Hostelworld are not clear as there are no road or street names! If you arrive very late like us, you will have to ask for directions from people. Kids will try and pester you and ask you where your hotel/hostel is, however they are known to be unreliable and may leave you more lost. It would be very advisable to learn some basic French before you arrive - especially directions!
