“Perfect hen weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013 via mobile

I am a bit delayed in writing this but hey, better late than never!
Nine of us travelled to Marrakech to celebrate my hen weekend back in March and we had the most amazing time.I must admit that when looking for places to stay I was really worried about finding the right location as we are quite a fussy group.
From the moment I made contact with Andrew here in the UK all fears were dispelled. His responses to all queries were extremely efficient and friendly. The payment process was secure and very user friendly.
When we arrived in Marrakech we were greeted by our driver and enjoyed taking in the lovely sights en route. The journey from the airport is not far and as we disembarked from the private transfer vehicle we were introduced to Mustafah...at the start of the trip he was a great host and guide...by the end of our trip he had become a friend. He is so attentative and goes beyond the call of duty to ensure guests have a wonderful stay. The welcome banquet was absolutely fantastic! It left the whole group full of jubilation.
The riad is an oasis of calm and a true example of what a traditional Moroccan riad should be. The ladies who cook and clean are all so genuinely friendly and accommodating and I was really touched to receive a parting gift to wish me luck for my what was then my forthcoming wedding.
I can't speak highly enough of this place and the staff...so if you are in doubt, please do not hesitate to go ahead and book your stay at Dar Habiba...you won't regret it.5* all round..

Six of us stayed at the Riad dar Habiba at the end of April. The three rooms we inhabited were clean and comfortable. The staff – Abdel, Mariem, and Jackie – were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble – even sandwiches ordered at the last minute. We ate on the roof terrace the first night and were treated to traditional Moroccan dishes and music. In the morning we were back on the terrace for a delicious breakfast. Abdel gave us a phone to use when we went out, and escorted us to and from our restaurant the first night as well as booking us a table at a restaurant the second night. The location of the riad was central for the square, restaurants, and souks. The Hammam was an experience we will remember for a very long time. It was a very enjoyable, relaxing, and memorable break.

My friends and I recently stayed at Dar Habiba to explore Marrakech and beyond. We had a perfect stay and Dar Habiba delivered and more in every way. We were met by a courteous young man who was holding a clear sign saying Dar Habiba. He politely waited while we got cash from the banks and was very informative about the city.
When we arrived at the edge of the medina we were met by a charming young man called Zufhair (i think!) who it turned out had lived in London. His English was perfect and his manners exemplary. He ensured all our bags were safe and sound on a basic cart. He accompanied us on the very short walk to our hotel. When we arrived we were astonished at the beauty of the courtyard and the sense of light and colour inside the riad hotel. We were taken up to the roof terra<ce and sampled a much needed cup of mint tea with little traditioal cakes. Mint tea was then served free of charge whenever we asked for it.
The room was narrow but more than large enough for our stay. our beds were adorned with roses and the towels were made into different shapes every day.
The matress quality was good and firm' how i like it. The shower room was very small but authentic and we had great showers every day. Toiletries were jasmin i think and we wanted to bring sme home but could not find them for sale anywhere.
Food at the hotel was first class in fact it was better than when we ate out at a very expensive restaurant in the new town cafe tarifa i think it was called. Would strongly recommend eating at the riad-great cook who i shy but was very willing to make us a variety of local dishes to sample.
dar habiba became a home from home as we took over the whole place and we realised we didnt need to lock things away as the staff became more like family than staff.
Love this place. The improvements i might suggest are providing a laundry bag and making it clear how much you charge for laundry as i didnt know whether this was offerred by the hotel or not. Otherwise perfect. We will certainly be back- with our partners next time.

Room Tip: rooms are simlar except kutubya which is larger and has a sofa and bigger shower room.

My friends and I stayed in Dar Habiba and had a fabulous time. It was our second trip to Morocco and our third riad. Dar Habiba outclassed the other riads completely. Why? The service level was incredible-something that we could not tell from looking at the website really. Our hosts Abdel adn Mustapher were quite amazing. They papmered to our every whim and made all their work look effortless. The team at Dar Habiba work really well together and the ladies cleaned and tidied our room for us every day and decorated our bed with fresh petals.
We loved hanging out with our mint tea on the kilim carpet pouffes, our dinners in the riad were truly fabulous. Slept really really well in spite of having lots of tea. The bedding is soft ad silky and the riad is unusual in that there is no audible call to prayer-not sure why as there is a mosque nearby.
The location of dar habiba is perfect-just 5 minutes stroll straight to the big square and 2 minutes stroll in the other direction to the taxis. It is very near museums and 1 minute from the start of the souks and yet very very peaceful.
Only downside was the hammam is quite small and ´beldi´ not like the very fancy european hammams we are used to. We did all have a wonderful massage from zahira though.
Highly recommend this place for groups of ladies, couples and families. Not a business hotel and not top top star rating but great value for money and really friendly and safe.

Room Tip: we took over the whole place and liked all of the rooms but the Koutoubia stands out as being much m...

My wife and I recently travelled around Morocco and we visited several different cities including Marrakech. Having sampled riads and hotels accross this beautiful country I have to say that Dar Habiba was the best place that we stayed in (including a 5 star hotel in Rabat!). Dar Habiba is an authentic riad hotel which is simply but beautifully decorated. The staff could not have been more friendly to us. We were overwhelmed by the welcome and service that we were offerred by Mospapher and also the cook and cleaning lady. They were genuinely trying their best to make our stay special. The breakfast was also the best one we had whilst we were in Morocco-fresh fruit salad (small but tasty including nectarines and strawberries), yoghurt, omelet as well as the ubiquitous moroccan breads and pancakes. Since we were quite exhausted after our tour of Morocco we wanted to eat in the riad rather than exploring the local restaurants. Although the meal only cost us £16 it was far superior to most of the restaurants we visited in the major cities in Morocco. And even better than the (supposedly best) Moroccoan restaurant in Guilez. We ate chicken pastilla, tomato salad, briuattes, felafels and amazing aubergine salads which we were taught to cook the following day by the skilled Bahidja.
We stayed in the Koutoubia suite which is the best room at Dar Habiba but we looked in the berber and habiba rooms and they looked lovely as well although the shower rooms are smaller.
The location was perfect being very close to the square (5 minutes walk) and even closer to the taxis and local souks (2 minutes walk.) We learnt that the area is one of the best which we chose by chance.
Great wifi in courtyard and in our room-dont know about all other rooms. But they offer you the use of an ipad if you need it and give you a phone to use while you stay there qwhich is nice touch.
We had a relaxing hammam which was a well earned treat after our travels. And my wife had what she descibesd as an 'amazing' massage.
Downsides: The riad has a beautiful pool in the courtyard but it is for sitting in and no0t big enough to swim. Cant think of anything else.
We would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: We loved the koutoubia suite-large and has a sofa and coffee table which is useful for working if yo...

Really can't rate the Dar Habiba hughly enough - far exceeded my expectations and I wouldn't hesitate to go back. This is not a five star hotel but it doesn't pretend to be what it is is a lovely oasis of calm filled with rose petals, fragrant oils and simply the most attentive and helpful staff you can imagine - Mostafa and Miriam you were truly fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble from our collection from the airport, the wonderful home cooked meal we enjoyed on the roof on our first night whilst listening to the call to prayer, the restaurant recommendations or the horse carriage ride. Would I return - absolutely yes - in a heartbeat!!!

Room Tip: Stayesd in the Koutabia Suite - lovely ornate high ceiling - delightful wetroom = slightly bigger th...

Graciousness and flexibillity was what we got! We did Not expect this, but we were welcomed as if we were familymembers. The Riad is Not a 5 Star Hotel, and they do not sell themselves as one, but we felt as if we were in a Dream of comfortness and smothered in friendlyness, if you are willing and interested in the local living, if you are willing to accept a different view of what we are used to in our quit homes and , maybe, disturbung, neighbours, open your mind, and let a whole different life enter into your daily strut. If you are used to Butlers,Reading your wishes from your eyes, helping you in and Out of the pool, do not choose a Riad, it has 4 rooms and you will hear the other guests, snoring and grunting, nobody Said we were inhuman .,
But, I speak for 4 people, experienced travelers, the way we were accomodated, the way everybody was eager to come to our needs, the way the Riad's State was in, it was a beautifull excpirience, I and , I mean we, have learned to Love Mustafa, as well as the 2 ladies, (Biljan)?? who were absolutely Perfect!!!! Yes, you can hear everything of the other guess, so what?? Imagine being in a family, Try to be a Bit more compliant...We did NOT have any complaints about charging us too much, in the contrary, Mustafa always made sure, my daughter and I Were looked after , and we did not pay an amount that we found impossible. Mustafa was honest and True, he did not have to to this, but he did...
I will, and can always reccomend the riad, and I will always stand behind the persons who Run it, let yourselves be surprised, and Indulge yourselves......
