“Perfect for a visit to Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Stayed here with our teenage daughter, we all loved it. Easy to access the places of interest, the palaces, the souks, taxis, restaurants & the square are all within easy walking distance. We went in August, it was even hotter than usual, 44 or 45 degrees every day, which is a bit too hot to go out in the afternoons. The Riad has a plunge pool which was lovely to cool down in in this weather. The roof terrace is lovely for sunbathing, and has a good view of the roofs of the Medina, you can also have candle lit dinners here. The food is excellent, and you can have cooking lessons here too. The staff are very helpful, and will arrange day trips to the mountains or other places if you wish. It's worth getting the Riad to send a taxi for you, although it is easy to find once you have been there, it's a little tricky to find at first, as are all the Riads in the Medina, as taxis can not go all the way down the allies. A man with a barrow will take your luggage to the Riad, so you don't get lost. We will definitely be back, when its cooler. We stayed in the Riad Diana for 4 days, and went to Les Maison Des Oliviers, which is 10 minutes outside the centre, for a relax by the pool, for a couple of days, which was a perfect combination. Marrekech is definitely a place not to miss.

Room Tip: All the rooms seemed excellent, the upstairs rooms were very peaceful, but the one on the ground flo...

We were warmly welcomed into Riad Diana following a pre-arranged taxi from the airport. A short walk into the narrow streets (inaccessible for cars) with a trolley pulling porter for our baggage brought us to the riad. The rooms were beautifully decorated and kept superbly clean and airconned. The plunge pool was greatly appreciated and the views form the top were excellent.A short walk (5 mins) took us into the main square. A 22€ 1 hr massage in the riad is very recommended and was arranged at short notice. A request for cold tonic (bring your own Gin as Ramadan was in full flow!) was quickly accommodated via the manager.

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms were lovely. There was a separate room on the roof terrace which looked appealing fo...

My friend and I have just returned from a 5 night stay in this lovely little riad only a few minutes walk from the main square. Couldn't have asked for more- fantastic, attentive service, both prior to our arrival via email and throughout visit. Clean and friendly with delicious home cooked meals, heavenly hamman/massage and convenient location. Arranged airport transfers and staff went out of their way to ensure a comfortable, relaxing visit. Excellent value for money, highly recommended.

We started our summer trip with a superb 2 night stay here. This is suitable for a romantic getaway but will also suit families. It offers sound value for money and is well located for the medina. If you can, ask for the roof top room as it allows for enjoyment of the terrace. We did a cookery lesson and hamman massage both of which are recommended. The breakfast is simple but filling and all the staff are friendly and ameniable. If I was in town again I would stay here.

PS Please feed the kittens who live outside.

Great traditional Riad. Close to Jamaa el-Fnaa and in a quiet side street just away from the buzz of the city. Staff couldn't do enough for us and spoke very good English. Breakfast was great. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Would recommend!

Although we only stayed for one night the staff at the Riad were outstanding. They not only went above any expectation we could have possibly had but made our visit to Morocco start off right. We arrived somewhat late in the evening but were still greeted by the owner and our room was top quality- air conditioning, complimentary bottled water, map of the area with highlighted information, all amazing especially as I hadn't properly had time to research places to go prior to our visit due to exam-stress. Our stay was certainly stress removing which made it all the better

Room Tip: The terrace room is wonderful for an added feeling of remoteness and makes the evening time enjoyabl...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our room was lovely and spotlessly clean. The rooftop terrace is beautiful both for some day time sun and for enjoying a drink once the sun sets in the evening. We didn't have dinner here but we saw a table set out and it looked as though they had gone to a lot of effort- probably ideal if you don't fancy heading out one evening and I have no doubt that that the food would be excellent. Breakfast was perfect- fruit, pastries, bread, jams and freshly squeezed orange juice, together with genuinely great coffee.

Location-wise this is a very well situated riad. You are only a five minute walk from the main square but can still enjoy some good souk shopping virtually on the doorstep. That being said, the riad is set well back enough from the street so that there is very little noise. As two women in our 20s, we felt very safe wandering about the area at night, although partly because it is quite busy, even later on. The riad will arrange tours and cooking classes, and they have an on site hammam which is a fun (and reasonably priced) experience.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were served mint tea on arrival and provided with a map with the assurance that we could ask questions about the local area. Check-out time was a very reasonable 12pm and they were happy for us to leave our luggage and to come and go as we pleased for the remainder of the day before our flight back. Basically, it is clear that the owners take a great deal of pride in trying to ensure that guests have an enjoyable visit and the place deserves to do extremely well. Highly recommended.
