“Modern Moroccan with a French twist”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013 via mobile

We were here for 3 nights with a group. The service was excellent, rooms modern and spacious (with two separated dressing areas, one with the tub and the other with the shower and a walk in closet) and the location very convenient to the old Medina. The Internet service is excellent and the hotel is perfect for business travel. What it lacks is the charm and ambience of Marrakech which will disappoint some. Traveling without a group I would choose a small Ryad hotel, but for this occasion it was very convenient. The restaurant at La Maison Arabe only .1 mile walking distance is a big plus as it is wonderful with tasteful (not touristy) Moroccan ambience, music and food. The downside: loud disco music pounding from the bar at least one of the nights we were there.

the hotel is well located , near to el FNA place, but rooms need renovation , especially bathrooms, where the shower is not working well. breakfast is just, not big variety as someone may expect , quality of food not that good, was expecting a real french croissant for my breakfast. it was not the case. finally if you like salmon on your breakfast , better to arrive early, because once the plat is empty, you will have to insist to get some in 15 to 20 minutes.
staff is friendly , polite , but not professional

Room Tip: i had the room number 118 it was a very long distance the only lift they have in the hotel, try to g...

A very warm and welcoming hotel fantastic and clean throughout with very good food. However the art of service is still "work in progress", the service doesn't yet match the quality of the hotel look and feel but still good enough for a great holiday

Spent the 2013 Easter break there with my family there and had a brilliant time. The location is close to Sahat ElFna, yet far enough from the noise of the city to enjoy a relaxing break. Staff were extremely helpful, and the kids club was fantastic. The food was also very good. I would recommend the Riyadh for a family as it is spacious and gets the full hotel service.

Just spent a 5 wonderful days in Marrakesh in a splendid Hotel, Naoura Barriere.
Stunning room at the second floor, plenty of space (45-50 sq m), large bathroom, large terrace, very good breakfast in the room and much important the silence...I couldn't raise a negative point

This hotel is modern and has a great location being in the Medina and a short walk from the main attractions - quite important as Marrakesh is hectic..
It is quiet and calm inside with good outside pool and seating/relaxing areas.
The bedroom was large with comfortable beds, a great sized bathroom and very clean.
The restaurant was good although pricey.
The breakfast was a very good buffet with lots of choice.
The staff very helpful and friendly.
Entertainment most evenings with an in house singer and DJ.

The negatives, the aircon during the winter months was set throughout the hotel to a high temperature which cannot be controlled within the room.
No tea/coffee facilities and the room service a little unreliable especially if you dont speak French.

Room Tip: Avoid ground floor rooms.

Let's start with the positive. The rooms are big and kept very clean. The location is very close to the main square. The majority of staff are very sweet and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and you can eat up to 10.30am by the pool or 12 in your room.
Now lets start with the negatives. We were staying for a week and told an upgrade with 24 hour butler service and complimentary newspapers. 24 hour butler service actually means 24 hour room service which most, even budget hotels offer. As for an English newspaper, I got one, and my friend got 2 over 7 days. I asked about 5 times and got a different excuse every time from reception, from they are coming, they are here and being taken to your room later, to we cannot get English papers as the other hotels get them first(you can buy every English newspaper in the square 5 minutes away) unless you read La Monde , forget it. They have a huge TV in your room with about 4 in English, not that I go away to watch TV but a little something before I retire in English would be good. Even in Nepal I got US films.
The pool looked lovely but filled with French families and loads of screaming children, one thing I avoid on holiday. Pool service is random but discovered if you tip a little each time you get better service.
I know that hotels are more pricey for drinks, but 6 Euros for a local stubby bottle of beer makes it more expensive than Hong Kong. Their is no alcohol in your mini bar despite it being served in bar and restaurant. No tea or coffee making facilities in your room.
The guide booked on our first day lied about time and money, we had to complain to concierge , you was apologetic and promised to get some of our money back and I must admit she did ensure the guide for the Atlas Mountains was amazing.
You have to pay for hotel to airport transfers(this is supposed to be 5 star) they forgot to book our car going back so we had to get a local taxi.
I travel the world 3 times a year and stay in very nice hotels. This claims to be 5 star but sadly service is more like 3 stars. 310 euros a night and me and my friend had a room each for 7 nights. If you go around the corner to this hotel to Maison De arabes around the corner you get antique Moroccan furniture, English speaking staff for half the price, I could have cried when we went their for a drink, that is where I will go back to. This hotel if you are English are made to feel third class. We have a saying in England "all fur coat and no nickers" that sadly is what this hotel is. It tries to be classy but just does not know how. I would not recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Go around the corner to Maison De Arabes for a real classy taste of Morocco for half the price of th...
