“Beautiful riad & attention to detail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

Zamzam really is a peaceful retreat away from the tourist throngs, but still within comfortable walking distance of the action. Given its location, the unbroken views south across the medina from the rooftop terrace are wonderful, with the Atlas Mountains forming a stunning backdrop. The room was very spacious & plush with a beautiful marble & tadelakt wet-room/bathroom. I particularly liked the little touches such as the light fittings, fluffy robes, and gorgeous toiletries. The rooftop hammam & spa treatment room were also very welcome! Service was really efficient and discreet. Breakfast was served on the rooftop terrace and dinner in the salon, the food at all times excellent with a wide choice. Zamzam is a beautifully-restored, traditional riad complemented by some subtle modern detail. I thoroughly recommend a stay here.

i spent 2 weeks at Zamzam which went by at remarkable speed. transport to and from the riad was arranged by marcus and emma who also warmly greeted me on my arrival. i instantly felt i was a valued human being and not a number.
the riad was breathtaking from the ground floor library to the roof top terrace. my room was spectacular with every attention given to the most minute details.
the staff were ALWAYS very friendly and helpful. every single time i was greeted with a smile and an offer of assistance. my sense of direction is lacking to say the least, a staff member from the riad was always willingly to accompany me to obtain a taxi or to get me back to the riad. I was provided information on where to shop, etc.
every meal was delicious and artfully prepared. fresh fruits and juice, yoghurt, various breads.......... the hamman and massage were lovely.afterward i sat on the terrace feeling more calm and peaceful than i have in a very long time
i did not see emma on the day i left BUT she called me to say goodby! if you are looking to have an incredible experience this is the place to stay.

Marcus and Emma have created a secret and wonderful Riad in the northern part of the Medina. The service is superb from their thoughtful, generous and attentive staff. Take your breakfast on the top terrace in the sunshine with the sounds of coo-ing doves and the murmur of people in the streets below... Let them suggest places to eat, guides and trips to help you explore, the map that will enable you to find your own way round the medina on foot. Eat their own delicious food in the evening, with a complimentary bottle of wine. Take one of their cookery classes... And then just step out of their door into the day-to-day lives of normal Marakechi...... A great place to stay.

Room Tip: Choose the most expensive! First floor so doesn't give straight onto the patio and is thus more...

This trip was organised as a birthday treat for one of our party. From the point of booking, the owner, Emma was so helpful it was unbelievable, offering information on day activities, excursions and places to eat. She organised a birthday dinner with musicians and dancers at our request and what a fabulous treat it turned out to be (6 x fifty somethings learning to belly dance!!).

The management and staff at the Riad were fantastic and so helpful when one of our party needed medical attention for severe back pain (nothing to do with the belly dancing!) if i could rate the Chiropractor here too I would - he was termendous! The riad itself is beautiful, lovely rooms with exceptionally comfortable beds. At our arrival the wonderful Faisal asked us to make the place our home - I just wish I got attention like that at home.

All in all a wonderful trip. Thanks to everyone at the Riad Zamzam.

Room Tip: We booked 3 rooms: the Palm suite; the Ismael and the Isaac - all were lovely

This Riad was everything I had hoped it would be. Friendly, incredibly professional staff, in a beautifully presented space. We had our 2 children with us and they were made to feel as welcome as we were. We had the Rose Suite on the ground floor which was practical for the kids and even with two extra beds still felt roomy. The food was fantastic. I cannot think of anything they could have done to improve our experience. First class.

I love this riad for its high quality of luxury accomodation, fine food and excellent staff. This visit was for the retreat and it was by far the best i have experienced, and I have been to most well known spas worldwide. It went from detox juicing, yoga by exceptional teacher, healthy delicious food to various massages which included deep tissue, hot stone, reflexology and every other pampering you can imagine. Reiki & meditation to start and finish the day resulting in the most relaxed tranquil feeling in a short period of time. A presentation on foods that heal which may have changed my life for good. An experience not to be missed and one to be repeated - I hope!

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely

Dear Retreaters! thank you for your great reviews. As well as the personal growth these Retreats give me, is the reward of time and time again seeing the empowerment and self knowledge they provide people. So important to have a quick time out and re-charge of the batteries. Its amazing what you can do in 3 days! Just planning the next one, look forward to seeing you there x
