“Pure bliss”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

A great place to escape to after the madness of the downtown souks. Elegant modern architecture blended with wonderful landscape, tasteful interior design and huge pools. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only min point was the rather limited choice on the menu and the rather pricy spa services. Highly recommended, we'll be back!

Beautiful arty contemporary hotel, can't fault much. It was the relaxation we needed after a three day Marrakech adventure in a town centred riad. Staff were exceptional ,very attentive and the rooms very accommodating.I would very much recommend it to anybody, chance is you won't be disappointed.

We stayed 4 nights at the Dar Sabra. Everything was perfect : rooms, outside and heated pools, transfer shuttles, quietness.

A great place to relax and enjoy the medina (city center) in the same trip.

We stayed at the Dar Sabra for a November break. We chose a Superior Suite, which was very unusual and very spacious.. The weather was warm and sunny though at night it could get very cold, you would need to turn your heater on in your room.
The Dar Sabra is a spacious lovely hotel. Very relaxing, though do not expect to be able to swin in the lovely pool, it will turn you blue!!
While the staff were warm and friendly the food menu was a little limited and quite expensive.
Recommend a trip to the Atlas Mountains, and lose yourself in the souks of Marrakech

Room Tip: All the rooms are very unique so I think chose whichever suits

Dear client,
Thank you very much for your lovely review !
It was a real pleasure for us to welcome you in Dar Sabra.
We are very happy to find out that you have enjoyed your trip to the Atlas mountain.
True, it gets quite cold at night during winter season in Marrakesh but it is worth it the sunshine during the day !
The month of November is the best to visit the souks.
Thank you very much again for your review! We appreciate it !
We hope to welcome you any other time in the future.
Warmest regards,

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

We stayed at the Dar Sabra for 4 nights following 3 nights in the Medina and overall enjoyed the experience.

Packed with design features, it was a nice way to round off our trip. We stayed in the Africa themed room which was huge with more than enough space for 2 people (if not a family).

A geat place to unwind, lie by the pool, enjoy the spa facilities and not much else to tell the truth so I probably wouldn't want to stay any longer than 4 nights.

Friendly, attentive and helpful staff who did very well considering some of the more demanding guests.

Only a few gripes slightly tarnished the experience:

- The drains seemed to be blocked occasionally emitting an odour in our bathroom
- Sky connection to the TV didn't work (Both this and the drains were reported to reception who were polite and said they'd look at, but didn't seem to get fixed. We weren't too bothered about the latter, but the drains were a bit unpleasant)
- Open plan layout with room / bathroom meant people outside the room could get a glimpse of you when stepping out of the shower
- Toilet apart from main bathroom (probably a good thing in view of the above) but no handwashing facilities, so you have to go to the bathroom to do this
- Some minor discrepancies with our final bill. However, this was sorted promptly
- Restaurant menu was a bit limited and after 4 lunches and dinners we'd tried everything on it almost twice
- Left to sit and look at people around the pool on arrival. I think the idea is to let you soak up the atmosphere and make sure your room is ready, but we just wanted to get to our room and get round the pool
- Tea and Moroccan pastries were included as part of our package. We only got the mint tea
- Hamman as part of our package was a bit of a let down having experienced something more authentic in the Medina beforehand

However, all in all a great value stay as we got on a special offer.

Room Tip: Choice of themed rooms to suit all tastes, as well as Villas and standard room accommodation.

Dear Mrs./Mr. Mischievousminx,
We would like to thank you for sharing your experience on Tripadvisor and for all your compliments and helpful feedbacks.
We are glad that you have enjoyed your stay overall and saddened that there were few gripes that tarnished your experience and we take full responsibilities. However, I can assure you that your requests were all heard and we did try our best to fix them. The TV problem, for example, is really not in our hands because it will depends on the sky connection and in this area of the Palmeraie, the connection is not good ! We are trying very hard to find another system for our TV signal problem that can be reliable.
Moreover, we would have also changed you to another room with pleasure if we knew you did not like the shower layout of the African suite even though the yard you see from the shower is the backyard of the hotel's main building so a part of the person in this room, no one passes by there.
We hope to have the chance to welcome you another time in the future and we remain at your whole disposal by e-mail (contact@darsabra.com) for any further feedback you wish to give to us.

Just finishing our holiday to Morocco we stayed four nights in Hotel Dar Sabra, Marrakech followed by six in Essaouira and a final night in Dar Sabra.

The first four nights we stayed in a Junior suite at Dar Sabra (Indian themed, I believe) the room was spacious large tub, out door balcony which is lovely for having breakfast from and an almost private pool. Arriving at the hotel was a bit worrying as the entering the hotel you have to go off-road due to new works being done. Once in the compounds your taken in to a delightfully private haven; the hotel's compound is big with several swimming pools, relaxation areas, private spa and is quite nicely set out. Exceptional it may not be but most definitely beyond satisfactory!

Food is of a good standard compared to the rest of Marrakech.

What makes this hotel is most definitely the service provided by the staff; Hassan in the day and Abdul-Latif in the evening were both exceptional in catering to our needs. They make Dar Sabra an incredibly pleasant place to stay in. We would also be lost without our driver Afan who didn't have to but acted as a guide to Marrakech on our first visit; showing us the two medinas, historical sights a lot of credit to him.

Loved the stay thanks to exceptional service.

Room Tip: Superior suite is lovely although the junior suite isn't far behind!

Stayed at Dar Sabra recently as I had a conference nearby and didn't want to stay at the conference venue. The positive of this hotel is the design - very lovely - and the front desk staff were wonderful. However. In the week prior, they told me they were no longer able to accommodate us for the final night of our stay (I am baffled as to why this happened - the hotel appeared completely empty when we were there) - and although this was an inconvenience (having to change hotel when you are working from 8 am to 6pm is a pain in the &^%$), the management were very helpful in trying to help us find an alternative hotel and upgrading our room. The room we were upgraded to was massive, which, to be honest, isn't exactly to my taste - but I get that people tend to think bigger is better in luxury hotels. The bed was comfortable, the bath could fit 23 people, the shower was bigger than my bedroom at home etc etc. On the downside, there were many mosquitoes and terrible acoustics - we had the pleasure of listening to the neighbours celebrating the joy of their humanity (ahem) and it was as if we were in the same room as them.
My partner ate at the hotel twice, he enjoyed the lunch, I can't say the same for room service which was lukewarm and a very limited menu. Breakfast was lacklustre - the same plate of cheese and breads trolled out every morning and very little service. The bar was unattended most of the time, but if you successfully play the game of find-the-waiter the drinks were good and they brought great snacks as an accompaniment. I think with a bit of work this hotel could be wonderful, but as it stands I was underwhelmed for the price.

Dear Client;
Thank you very much for your review: your compliments and remarks help us to improve our services.
The free upgrade to the superior suite was a way we found to please our clients.
However, we understand sometimes the client is not interested in a bigger room... as you said, the hotel looked empty, if we knew about it, we would gladly show you all rooms we had available to find the one that suits you best.
Unfortunately, we weren't aware of it until your review and he hoped we knew it before=/
We honestly thought you had really enjoyed your stay with us as it looked like it.
We thank you for your kind compliments and we are sincerely sorry for the inconveniences.
