Superb in every way - great staff good food choice of drinks on all inclusive excellent felt like we were welcomed by all the staff, pity we can't get this service everywhere. Located out of town - only a small point

On our way home we asked ourselves if there was anything we'd change about our holiday and the answer was a resounding 'no nothing'.
So what if others want to eat chips and pizza, it's their holiday, we were there to enjoy ours and enjoy we did..
The hotel itself and it's staff were excellent. A lot of pride and care went into all aspects of their guests having a good holiday. And as for Marrakech, crazy, mad, even romantic, makes your senses go into overdrive, eye opening, diverse yet totally and utterly amazing.. (Take the hotel courtesy bus!)
An excellent place to stay.. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thankyou Riu.

The hotel is immaculate. He staff are really friendly and helpful (just like the locals). The rooms are clean and we'll maintained. It was amusing to see what arrangement the maids had made out of the towels upon our return - swans, a heart?

The pool is large but the water is freezing. It seemed to be fed by the melt waters from the Atlas Mountains! One minor complaint - the guests reserved beds by the pool with towels very early in the day. Fortunately we were always able to find enough free beds together.

The food is good and there is plenty of choice. It's available almost continuously from breakfast until dinner.

The hotel runs a shuttle bus to the Medina several times a day. The trip takes about 20 minutes.

Stayed here in Feb 2014. Couldnt fault the place, food was amazing, ive staeyd in a few all incl and this was defo the best, so much to choose from. The hotel common areas, grounds and rooms were spotless. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We used the shuttle bus service into town every second day and always got a place. Booked the camel ride at the hotel and that was good fun! If I had two moan about anything it would be two minor things;the wifi wasnt working alot of the time and the entertainment was on the cheesy side!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2014

Went end of April with another couple for 6 nights. Weather superb. In late 30s every day and sun from 7am to 8pm. Cheap holiday with Thomson. Just £424 each. Flight times good too

Room
We has a ground floor room in the 5000 block. Rooms are large and cool but because we were on the ground floor we always had to have the thick curtains pulled if we didn't want people looking in. This made the room very dark and a little dismal so I'd ask for a first floor room. The bathrooms, while ok, are dated and in need of some TLC. Good hanging space and enough hangers for 2 people. Safe easy to use. Main gripe is 2 single beds. They should have 2 queens. This stops me returning. I want to sleep next to my partner on hols!!! However, beds were comfy.

Drink
Wines ok. Cocktails a bit poor. Beer ok. All on tap to midnight. Good choice for kids.

Food
3 restaurants. The Moroccan and Italian are bookable but still buffet style. The Italian was very poor. The Moroccan was better but same menu every night so only went twice. Main restaurant was good for breakfast but lunches and dinner same old each day. From my experience, food and drink were typical of 4 star all inclusive and perfectly acceptable if not excellent. Kids well catered for it seemed.

Location
20 mins for airport so ok. I wouldn't bother with the souks unless you like being harassed by every shop keeper. It's a pretty dirty, noisy and smelly place and not a trip I'd repeat.

Service
Excellent.

Cleanliness
Very good and the gardens are lovely to walk about in

Gym and spa
Gym not bad. Didn't use the Spa

Pool
Cold but big and enough sun beds, even with people reserving from the crack of dawn.
Sun beds, while not the best, were ok but the lovely comfy double ones were reserved every morning by 6.30am. Beach towels terrible, as were the room towels. Dry, thin and rough. Bring your own.

Entertainment
We only used the water aerobics and step classes which were good. There was plenty of other stuff and kids seemed to have enough to do most days.

Wifi was pretty slow

All in all not bad for the price.

Enjoyed a week here back in September, was a lovely hotel set in fantastic grounds. Rooms were excellent and very clean. Only thing i did not like was the entertainment crew who would walk around bothering people who were relaxing to try to get them to join in with activities.
Had a fantastic waiter in the bar area who made amazing cocktails which were not on the menu.

What a great place to stay and fantastic value for money. It's hard to fault this place in any area. The staff really made it for us. We stayed as a family of four (with a 2 and a 4 year old) and were really impressed with the way the staff went the extra mile with everything. The food and drink was brilliant (for the price you pay), the shuttle bus service really good, the pool really lovely, the rooms great... such a good holiday. We had a small problem with our shower and it was fixed straightaway. They really couldn't do enough for you. The pool is rather cold, but fine once you get going! About 20 - 30mins by the bus into Marrakech. Well worth it.
