“4 star hotel with 5 star rating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

My 14 year old daughter and myself have just come back from this amazing hotel. The staff were friendly and always on hand to help. The entertainment team made sure no-one was left out of anything. Food was out of this world especially the tajine would definitely recommend. Ignore any negative comments on here, you will more than likely find people moaning about the smoking within the reception, lounge area but there were so many seats and little niches you did not notice the smoking as some will say. The Thompson Reps (Stacey) was amazing was on hand when you needed her and it was no trouble for her to sort out any issues. So if you are planning on going please go even just for the experience of this amazing country.

Room Tip: If you are looking for quiet ask fro rooms from 4000 as it is close to the pool but away from the ma...

This was our 1st trip to the Tikida Palmeraie and it will not be our last.
I did read reviews on here before we went but i would say go and make your own mind up it really was a fantastic 2 week holiday. The food was great , the staff were great, the room was great the hotel was large but you could always get a bed by the pool.
Take the hotel bus into town its great to explore, I though I would miss a beach and the sea but I didnt it was just a wonderful holiday from start to finish.
The weather was great cool in the evening (we did go in the last few days of May as we got into June it got hotter).

Room Tip: All rooms are good but some are along walk from the main pool area and hotel so it's worth e-mai...

Stayed at this hotel for 11 nights from 1st August. Most things have already been covered in previous reviews.
However a few tips which may help, as mentioned the onsite shop is VERY expensive we paid around £6 !! for a pack of cards !! ( other`s paid £20 upwards for inflatables for the pool!) they were well used though as the entertainment, although done to the best of the staffs ability could become samey (dance shows). we booked "interconnecting rooms" these were not a problem for us as our children 14 & 10 could be left however if you have younger children this could be a problem, as they are actually rooms next to each other that lock independently, there is an outer door which leads to both however ours was not very secure and a good push could have opened it. Pool and grounds excellent rooms are good size. Food, there was plenty of it and reasonable quality for AI,
drinks were ok have had better on other AI.
This is a great hotel for families with lots going on during the day for all ages.
Overall it does what it says and if your after an AI somewhere hot you shouldn`t be disappointed

We have just returned from our second stay at this hotel. All of the previous reviews summarise people's likes and dislikes and that is the reason for the sometimes mixed reviews-we are all different and like different things!. For us though,it ticked all the right boxes.
Had we wanted frantic nightlife we would have gone to Spain or a Greek island- we wanted a leisurely evening meal with a few low key drinks outside and that is what we got. Food was always cooked fresh with plenty of choice and yes, over a two week stay it will always be a weekly cycle however with the choice offered it was not an issue for us.
Yes we were up early to get our favourite spot in the sun but everyone else was also doing this also so this is a guest problem and not a hotel problem.what I didn't agree with though was those people who got up early to reserve beds and then did not appear until the afternoon. however a word with the pool attendant would resolve the hunt for unoccupied beds as he would contour beds up from somewhere so you were never without.
The animation team were hard working and although some of the evening performances were not our cup of tea,we didn't have to watch them and anyway, we hadn't paid west end show prices for their performances-special mention to MJ who had everyone in stitches with his character(especially during the aqua aerobics) and an 'interesting' laugh- go and stay and you will know what I mean! Maybe not a hotel for teenagers or adults looking for nightlife and lively evenings but it is not advertised as that in the brochure-for lively go elsewhere, for relaxing evenings with a chance to dress for dinner and enjoy a leisurely meal and drink go for this.
Staff were excellent and genuinely tried to make everyone feel special. The ones that stood out for me were Simo and Nihad on reception who ensured our requirements were always met, the restaurant manager in the main restaurant who looked after the buffet with pride and ensured everything was running fine and presentation was good during the sometimes busy evening periods, and all his team of waiters and waitresses who gave 100% at all times, working long hours to ensure we were all fed and watered!. Yes all three restaurants were buffet style but had I wanted waiter service I would have gone elsewhere. The Moroccan was not my taste but the Italian was a pleasant change and ran well by the young restaurant manager. A bit of background music would have been nice but did not spoil my evenings spent there.
Rooms were spacious and had free safe and air con kept room to a reasonable temperature. Maids serviced rooms daily and the public areas were kept spotlessly clean by the army of maids constantly cleaning and mopping with little thanks.
Arrival drinks were a nice touch as was smoked salmon and champagne Sundayspeople have moaned about the wifi which yes,was hard to get on during the evenings and only available in the main reception area but I personally came away to get away from modern technology and flung I could always get ten minutes to check the news etc although rooms had sky news,bbc1 and itv which kept me abreast of any major news events and also the latest in the Dingles crisis on Emmerdale!
Pool was huge and never cold during the 45 plus heat.
Could have written loads more but will save that for next time as we have now decided to return for a third trip, this time in early November. We are also seriously considering for 2014's main holiday unless we find something out of this world!
Read the comments, take a chance and I don't think you will be disappointed!

Room Tip: We would opt for an upstairs room overlooking the pool, but everyone want different.some of the rooms...

We spent the first week of our holiday at this hotel in Marrakech and had a truly fabulous time! The staff are really friendly and will do anything for you and the atmosphere is great! The only downside to the hotel itself was there was no mini bar in the room and no coffee making facilities. The sunbed situation was also a little tedious as you had to get at silly o click (5am) to get sun beds as everybody reserved them! I later found out that this was written all over Trip advisor, so I guess we've got no body to blame but ourselves!

The buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner was really nice and the Moroccan restaurant was fabulous! As a family we were not too fussed on the Italian, but that could just be down to our personal preference, although we do normally like Italian cuisine!

There was a free shuttle bus service down into Marrakech which were utilised and which was hassle free. You have to be careful around the main tourist spots in Marrakech as you can get hassled but don't be put off as unlike other Muslim, African countries, a firm polite 'No' usually does the trick!

I would recommend doing the half day package trips to the Majorelle gardens, the history of Marrakech tour and the Souks and Medina, as you have a guided tour and the guide knows exactly where to visit. The Jemaa el Fna is worth a visit in the day and night as the atmosphere is totally different and you can soak up the atmosphere whilst sipping mint tea from one of the panoramic terraces of the Salon de The which surround the square.

In my personal opinion the hotel catered for everybody, couples, families and children.

Of course the hotel wouldn't be a success it it wasn't for the staff and Thomsons fabulous rep's Stacey and Ahmed.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room as you get a small garden and balcony which is lovely!

We returned last night from two weeks at the Tikkida Palmeraie and once again the staff did everything possible to make us feel welcome and this began by them keeping the restaurant open later on the day of arrival with all the staff on hand to greet us after the usual slog through immigration..
Bearing mind we visited during Ramadan and during a heatwave where temperatures some days were over 50c everyone was in good spirit and it was great that staff remembered us from before.
If you are looking for a great hotel in a country where people are very friendly then this has to be near the top of the list. Clean, great food, efficient service all round.
Downsides to Morrocco are getting through immigration, and sorting out money before you leave but its worth it
Try this hotel and look out for Hussain and Ossamma in the restaurant they a great couple of guys
We will definitely go back again in the future

Room Tip: Rooms near the pool are fantastic

We stayed at the Clubhotel RIU Tikida Palmeriae for one week on our first visit to Marrakech. On arrival at the hotel we were very impressed with the customer service during check-in and were very pleased to find that the hotel had fulfilled our request of a mountain-view room.

The weather was extremely warm whilst we were there (temperatures reached a maximum of 56 °C) and the huge swimming pool was a great relief from the temperature outside. Even though many people also found relief in the hotel swimming pool it was plenty big enough for everyone. There was also ample shade around the pool to be able to keep out from the sun.

The gardens are a delight to walk around when the sun has gone down and it is clear to see that the gardeners work extremely hard to keep the grass and exotic plants lush and green.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food at the hotel and especially enjoyed tasting the wide variety of local cuisine in the Moroccan restaurant; it is definitely worth at least one visit during your stay. The drinks were better than we expected for an all-inclusive holiday with a wide choice of cocktails and spirits on offer.

We used the complimentary shuttle bus to visit the Marrakech medina once during our visit. There are plenty of spaces on this large, modern, well air-conditioned coach however it is necessary to book a day before you wish to use it with reception. It takes approximately 20 minutes to get into the medina but it is well worth the visit to see the Koutoubia mosque, Jemaa el Fna and Souks.

The only downside for us was that this hotel seems to cater mostly to families with children. Which was not what we were looking for, however if you are looking for a family friendly hotel they seemed to have lots organised for children to take part in and the staff were very attentive to children.

Room Tip: Request a room to suit your requirements before you go and the hotel will do everything they can to...
