My family and I spent three nights in La Palmeraie resort, just outside Marrakech. It was just what we needed at the end of a week traveling around Morocco. We had a two-bedroom apartment that was ideal for our family of four. The apartment was on the ground floor, with a terrace that led out to a grassy garden area, and a pool just beyond. The kitchen, while a little lacking in certain cooking items, gave us the option to cook for ourselves when we chose to. My main criticisms or observations would be:
1. La Palmeraie is very hard to find if you are getting there by car, with no signs indicating which direction to go (when we pointed this out to the reception staff they laughed and said that they had no trouble finding it - which I thought was a little off the mark)
2. We had to pay the full amount for our stay on arrival. I have been to hundreds of hotels all over the world in my lifetime, and have never seen this before (the family that we were traveling with refused to pay, and had to argue for thirty minutes before they could get their room keys)
3. You cannot put restaurant food on the room unless you have set up an account, and this appeared to be a long process (we paid with cash or credit card instead)
Despite these slight distractions, we had a good time at La Palmeraie, and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing visit to Marrakech, without wanting to stay in the medina (it's also great for children).
