“Fantastic Hotel, old charm, modern comfort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

We drove down to Marrakech from Rabat while staying with my wife's family. On a friend's recommendation we decided to stay at the Al Fassia hotel and it was a great recommendation. The hotel does not look that remarkable from the outside, it is a walled building with large wooden doors. The interior is very nice, with beautiful tile work and high hallways with gardens inside and out. The rooms are very nice, with old world architecture updated with modern bathrooms and features. The staff are unbelievably friendly and accommodating, and will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The restaurant is fantastic. Make sure you are there to spend some time and enjoy sitting in the garden area for awhile because they cook delicious traditional dishes in tajine, and it takes time. I cannot recommend this place enough.

This is a terrible hotel and in the middle of nowhere. Situated far away from the Medina, all the taxi drivers know they can over charge. There was nobody staying when we were there in June which seemed odd. It all smelt of disinfectant (at least they were trying to be clean) but all the furnishings looked tired. The breakfast is really grim. Bedrooms look out on to main roads. Very disappointing and at the bottom scale of what Marrakech has to offer. Thankfully we were only there for 2 nights.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your feedback. I regret to hear that your stay amongst us at AL FASSIA AGUEDAL was not appreciated. First of all the location of the hotel is pretty clear I would like to inform you that AL FASSIA AGUEDAL is located in the touristic area of Aguedal near the famous Aguedal Gardens, surrounded by hotels and is 10mn drive from Djemaa El Fna square. this is to answer "in the middle of nowhere".
Secondly, you described the room as old and not refurbished. You stayed in a Comfort Room (Ghalia 18), i can guarantee as the onsite manager and the owner as well, that every room in our boutique hotel is looked after and richly decorated (burgundy velvet, first class mattresses, embroidered cotton linen). It had also windows overlooking the garden of the Al FASSIA Restaurant and the Aguedal Gardens.
As for the breakfast you had by the swimming pool during your stay,(two days) Can you please specify what is "grim" in having a complete moroccan breakfast with homemade bread, moroccan pancakes, homemade jam, homemade cake, cheese, fruit, homemade yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, tea or coffee?
May I specify that breakfast is complimentary at AL FASSIA AGUEDAL!
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to let you know, that we are a family business, mainly women in this hotel management business, working hard for the past 20 years to satisfy our clientele and give them the best service we can both for our national and international customers with the same passion that drove us so far.
I hope my answer has given some clarifications and I remain at your disposal for any other comments you might have.
I thank you one more time for taking the time to give us your feedback.

I went with my girlfriend for 4 days to this hotel. This place was wonderful from the moment we arrived. The room was comfortable, cool and clean and even the cheapest rooms have a great bathrooms and private balconies. The location of the hotel means you are outside the hustle and bustle of the city centre but it is certainly walkable in around 20-25 minutes (or a short taxi). It is a quiet hotel and it never felt too crowded. It was great to have a pool in the Moroccan heat which you don't often get closer to the city centre. The pool was also a great size and spotlessly clean. All the staff were very helpful and attentive and the fresh smoothies they served were amazing. The restaurant attached serves very nice food and has a good atmosphere particularly at weekends. The free breakfast was nice and I was full every day but it isn't very varied and we would have become bored if I had stayed more than 4 nights (this is literally the only thing I would suggest!)

I can only echo the positive comments already made here.

Our 2nd time in Marrakech and although 1st time we stayed in the beautiful Sofitel and really loved it, we thought we'd try something different this time.

We often stay in other '5 star hotels' only to find they're not (apart from Sofitel which always lives up to or exceeds our expectations)

But when it comes to 5 star the Al Fassia most definitely is. The staff is friendly, professional, unobtrusive yet remarkably intuitive. The whole building and grounds are spotlessly clean. The breakfast - considering it's called 'continental' (which often means a bread roll and cheese) was much more than that and exquisitely presented.

And there is no awful background music! So many hotels seem to think guests like it. We don't - so this quiet was such a treat.

If you like genuine quiet, top class service, huge rooms, everything working, then this is the place for you!

Beautiful property with wonderful staff, We only stayed one night but very memorable. The rooms are huge. Highly recommend going to the restaurant. The food is amazing and just next door. Decor amazing and it is nice to have a quiet oasis outside the Medina. It is amazing value but just note that it is not close to the centre hustle and bustle of the Medina. We attempted to walk it and realised it was farther than we thought.

A peaceful oasis in Marrakesh. Can't say enough about the graciousness and helpfulness of the staff. Very restful lovely raid a short taxi ride away from all the action. Room very comfortable. Be sure to utilize their spa for the bath of a lifetime and very relaxing massage. Hope to return someday soon.

I stayed for four nights on a photographic assignment in Marrakech which meant a lot of coming and going from the hotel, the staff were very accommodating with breakfast due to early starts. The rooms were clean and air con great when the temp got to 38-39c.
The female hosts were polite and very amusing. I will stay here again on my next visit.

Room Tip: This hotel is ten minutes from the airport and twenty minutes from the souk so ideally placed
