“Just outside the city wall - basic but clean and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

I stayed here with a group for three days before and after venturing out to hike Mt. Toubkal. You won't get much here, but it's clean and in a great location, and the staff is relatively helpful. Also, if you are looking to buy alcohol, there are a couple of stores nearby that sell it.

Stayed at this hotel for the first night of our school trip to the Atlas Mountains. The temperature was 41 degrees, BOTH the air conditioning unit did not work. The mini fridge didn't work, and neither did the television. There was a mix up with the rooms and between the three of us that were allocated the room there was one double bed so two of us ended up sleeping on the tile floor which was the only way to stay remotely cool. The shower was awful. The lights kept playing up. The one bed we were given was hideously uncomfortable. There was no pool. The restaurant was so average. Location was okay, although the view from our room was not nice, all we could see was a load of rubble and some poor mules that weren't in the best condition. The staff didn't seem very friendly, as when I went down for breakfast the next morning I was given funny looks from the staff at reception. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and will not be going back. If you are going to stay in Marrakesh in June, I would get a hotel with a pool and working air conditioning. All I can say is thank god we didn't have to stay any longer than one night. Most of the other people on the trip found issues with the rooms, for example, no fridge, no working air con etc.

I stayed in this hotel as part of a trip to the Atlas Mountains.
A very basic hotel and base to stay to explore. Breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly.
Soft drinks and water available 24hrs a day.
The rooms were clean and air con available too. Overall a good base.

My boyfriend & I spent 5 days in Marrakech, first time for my partner. Hotel Majorelle is a good place to say if you are after good value, decent breakfast but might not be to everyone's cup of tea....good location, opposite to the famous Majorelle garden...close to Djemaa el-Fna square & the airport...our room was clean & comfortable but we would have preferred a quieter location so do ask for a back room.

Mustafa the hotel manager was extremely helpful & the whole team too.

You need some basic french to communicate (I am but my partner is British so was difficult for him..) although they do try & speak english.

We had dinner there one evening (ok the dining room is a bit shabby) but the food was very good..as good as the food you would get from a proper restaurant (believe me I am very familiar with moroccan cuisine) & very good value plus great service from Hussaini.

Overall staff are very flexible & friendly...just ask!!!

I would recommend this hotel without a doubt. Thank you to everyone there...

You must visit the Atlas mountains (go around by car properly) amazing scenery & you must go to this place called Moulay Brahim...absolutely wonderful...huge lake in the middle of nowhere surrounded by valleys & mountains, blue & clean water..no harassment from sales people, quirky & interesting villages in the surroundings...peaceful & heavenly!!

Hope this helps.

Mina & Jason

I stayed for 2 nights as part of a atlas mountains tour so i didnt choose the hotel, and wouldnt choose to go back i must say, maily because it didnt offer anywhere near some other hotels within a couple of km range, eg no pool, gym, terrace.

However in saying that, it was clean and comfortable.

Locationwise, situated on a busy road isnt a particularly great place to be, but the supermarket is only 5 mins away and you are within a walking distance from the two main parts of marrakech.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights during July and found it to be basic but clean and comfortable. The rooms are air conditioned and of a good size with a decent size bathroom. The front rooms are directly over a main road and suffer from the constant hum of traffic and peeping of horns. Breakfast certainly isn't anything to get too excited about, not a vast amount of choice in a fairly bland eating area.
The hotel is a good 15min walk from the medina and main square so it's easier to get a cab in the daytime heat. One bonus is free/unlocked wifi in the reception area.

Service from the staff is excellent, always courteous and helpful throughout the stay even if I needed to use a combination of English and French to get across what I wanted. Would definitely recommend as a good place to stay if you're traveling through Marrakech but if you're looking for somewhere to stay for as a base for more than a couple of nights I'd look for somewhere better.

Clean and decent by but do not expect it to be 3 stars European style. Good sized rooms, clean, a bt of a schlep to the Medina but overall good value for money. Decent breakfast but no forks. ........ crack and eat your hard boiled egg with a knife!
