“Kind helpful staff, great food, tranquil locationi”

We stayed in a ground floor and rooftop accommodations. Both rooms very clean, wonderfully decorated, comfortable beds, and powerful A/C units. The staff was helpful in every way (planning excursions, suggesting routes for walking in medina, booking bus tickets to other cities), and also prepared a delicious complimentary breakfast and had very tasty dinner options as well. It is a place of calm and just spending time in the comfortable riad I found myself speaking softly and feeling calm. It was a wonderful place to relax after a bustling day in Marrakech. We liked it so much we returned for our last 2 nights in Marrakech after visiting Essaouira.

Room Tip: Top floor secluded and private, less wifi signal. Bottom floors still very quiet and dark in morning...

Definitely the best Riad I've ever been in Marrakech. I tried 3 different Riads and I was disappointed, except with La Porte Rouge. Everyone was very kind. Our flight was 2 hours late and still we had a very kind guy waiting for us at the airport. Then, they helped us with everything, like giving advice, maps. We asked for a cheap restaurant and traditional, and it was very good, and we were very satisfied with the price (11euros total for 2 persons). I have to say that everything was perfect, the people, the genuine kindness, the place, the decoration, the cleaning. Everything. This was the only Riad where people were very genuine with us, THE ONLY. Thanks a lot for everything. PS: we were also amazed with Max! (the beautiful cat adopted by the Riad) :-)

What a fantastic Riad and place to stay.
We were so glad we chose to stay here. From our arrival to the moment we left we were treated so well. Nothing was too much trouble for Ahmed and the staff at the riad.
On arrival we were sat down and provided with a map and some pointers of the city. Some excellent do's and dont's were ran through and off we went.
The Riad is about a 10-15 minute walk to the main square. Just close enough and outside of all the mayhem. We had no problem walking back late of an evening or finding our way.
The riad itself is just beautiful. When you first enter, it is breathtaking. The courtyard is great and the room itself was amazing. No problem in getting transport or trips organised, they will do this all for you. We booked to go to the waterfalls and bugging in the desert. Both were booked through the riad and were great.
Breakfast each day was different and really nice. Sets you up nicely for the day. The hot tub was lovely and sitting up on the roof terrace eating breakfast was a real delight
Could not fault our stay in anyway and would definitely recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: two rooms on ground floor, four rooms on the second and one of the top floor. We stayed on the secon...

We really enjoyed our stay in this Riad, the price was good, the room very nice, with nice decorative touches on arrival. The staff were excellent and very helpful with information on the local area. The breakfast and food was also good. We made use of the massage service they had on offer which together with the Jacuzzi made for a very relaxing stay after the madness of Marrakesh medina!

My boyfriend and I were giddy arriving at this riad. Just next to the King’s palace, amongst the usual street loungers, stray cats and myriad mopeds, is an oasis of luxury in an otherwise austere (but infinitely interesting and enlightening) environment. The photographs don't do it justice, its traditional Moroccan interior is kept impeccable, with a somewhat modern twist with curious statues and paintings dotted around. The staff were delightful and incredibly hospitable- sitting you down at arrival with some mint tea and traditional Moroccan cakes and helping you to plan the rest of your stay with informed recommendations. They also arrange transport for you very efficiently whenever required, and for a good rate. Max (the riad's adopted cat) was also a delight, I scooped him up and walked around with him in my arms whenever I got back. The room was adorned with rose petals upon first arrival, and was put back to immaculate presentation every day- our room was called 'Warda' and it truly was stunning. breakfast was laid every morning at any time you asked, different everyday; fresh orange juice, french toast, crepes, traditional Moroccan bread, coffee, yoghurt, fruit, divine!!

The Riad staff were amazingly kind, welcoming us with tea and sweets. They also sat down and took the time to help plan out our time there. The food was delicious and certainly a major selling point. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

We landed in Marrakech airport and our driver, who we booked through the Riad was waiting for us. He provided a warm welcome. We were driven to the Riad and welcomed with mint tea and sweets/biscuits. Ahmed spent about 40 minutes with us talking is through the map and the best places to visit. We booked the superior room on the top floor (the Riad only has 7 room) and during the stay we pretty much had the terrace to ourselves. There's a lovely jacuzzi on the terrace, which was an absolute blessing on our rest days, because the heat was unbearable at times.
The room was fabulous. Plenty of space, spotlessly cleaned every day. We had a small fridge in the room & the AC worked brilliantly - a definite in the temperatures we were experiencing.
Breakfast was nice each morning - slightly overloaded with bread but it set us up for the day.
We ate in the Riad 3 times and the food was gorgeous!
Location wise, the Riad is about a 10 minute walk to the main square. At first the walk can be a little intimidating due to all the cars, motorcycles and horse & carts that pack the narrow streets, but you get used to it and you just need to be sensible. If you're out at night in the main square and want to get back, I recommend a TukTuk... It's £3:50 to get you home and it's safer than walking back in the dark.
I would definitely stay at this Riad again. The ambience is so peaceful and relaxing & the staff are so friendly and kind! Thank you Ahmed, Kamal & team (not forgetting Max) for a great week!
