What a find, an oasis of calm and sophistication, the perfect antidote after a days sighseeing around the encharnting medina.
We used Rial Elizabeth as a base to discover the wonders of marrakesh, they arranged as mush or a little as we wanted and helped us navigate the complexities of local travel. They arranged our transport to and from the airport as well as bookings restaurants and excursions when we required them. In short their organisational skills and the superior quality of the accomodation took all the stress out of our holiday.
I have never written a review before but felt compelled to after the perfect service we received.
I cant reccoment this Riad enough it makes the difference between a good holiday and an exceptional holiday.
I would certainly reccomend Marrakesh even in these politically difficult times, we saw no evidence of any problems and felt completely safe at all times.
I would reccomend a trip to the main square at dusk and eating at the tressel tables with the locals but you need a strong stomach. For a fine dining experience with plenty of moroccan charm try the Fondouk a few minutes from the Riad. A trip to the Atlas mountains is also a must.

Me and my partner stayed here from the 1st til 5th March - i cannot give this beautiful riad enough credit!! From meeting John and Elizabeth themselves to Kamal the manager then the lovely staff - we could not have been made to feel more welcome(and we didnt)anywere else!! This place was definitly the most welcoming Riad we visited during our stay in marrakech - it felt like home! From the moment we walked in we fell in love with the decor,Kamal kindly took us around the riad and we were lucky enough to see every room as nobody else was staying there other than us the first night!! Every room was tastefully decorated - every little detail stood out! The bathrooms were amazing i was taking photographs for ideas back home ha! We stayed in the Lucy room with the four poster which was fab - i loved it and i had the best night sleep there id had since i had my son! The roof terrace was gorgeous - i would look forward to breakfast up there every day and most mornings we were greeted by John himself and Kamal the manager - they could not do enough for us - they were there on hand to help with directions(Kamal even walking us half way to were we were going sometimes) booking restaurants etc. We are actually planning our wedding in Marrakech and John,Elizabeth and Kamal could not have been more helpful with ideas and examples for our big day - i only wish they could accomodate for all our family otherwise i would not have looked else were! Anyway, the breakfast was freshly prepared by one of the staff each morning - it doesnt matter what time you wake up your breakfast is served for you(so much better than staying at hotels) - it was lovley and different everyday which we enjoyed as we would wonder what was for breakfast when we woke up ha! It is then only a ten min walk through the souks each day which was great for us as we were looking at venues and restaurants in order to entertain our family and friends - taxis would arrive by a knock on the door if we needed to go to the other side of the city! This was arranged by Kamal - thank you! which made things really easy for us. We had dinner in the Riad the first night we arrived and it was a morroccan cuisine of salads, breads, chicken and cous cous with vegetables then creme brulee to finish - what a delight and the rose wine to accompany the meal was gorgoeus we even took a couple of bottles home! Elizabeth also reccommended a restaurant called Le Fondouk wich is a five min walk away - thank you Elizabeth as this was truely amazing and would definitly be going back again!!! What i will say is Kamal was on hand 24/7 for if we had any problems or needed help during the whole of out stay he was on hand - this was particually helpful when we got lost the 2nd night and he had a taxi to pick us up within ten minutes! Honestly everybody at the Riad cannot do anything more to help you!! Thank you all so much and we will be back to see you soon xxx

I stayed at Riad Elizabeth once before in 2008 and have been keen to return ever since - the plan to do so started even before I’d touched back down on English soil - & it did not fall short of my expectations…

I cannot praise this Riad highly enough, it checks all the boxes that you could hope for and more. Good value for money is an understatement! The superbly located Riad is beautiful with traditional touches throughout but with all the modern comforts you could want. They really have thought of everything down to the tiniest details and nothing seems too much trouble for the owners or their team of helpful staff.

My top tip? Eat dinner at the Riad – delicious! You can even learn how the traditional Moroccan food is made with a hands on cooking experience (including being taken to the local food market) and then dine on the fruits of your labour… Or enjoy having it made for you by their very talented staff and sitting down for a relaxing dinner at the end of the day. It is the best Moroccan food I had whilst there (or anywhere for that matter!) bar none. Seriously, try it.

If you're planning a trip to Marrakech I strongly recommend that you stay here, you won’t be disappointed!

We stayed at the Riad Elizabeth for 3 nights this February and I am sorry to say our stay was too short. Our room was comfortable and relaxing and we felt completely taken care of by everyone who worked at the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, we found out that Kamal, the manager, had already booked us dinner at one of the local restaurants, which turned out to be delicious. He helped us get our bearings in the city and even taught us some words of Arabic. The experience was far more intimate than most hotel stays. We never felt like we were merely hotel guests but rather we felt as though we were the personal guests of John and Elizabeth (the owners) and Kamal. It was a truly great experience and we happily recommend this hotel to others.

The owners have restored the Riad to a high quality in all bedrooms, bathroom and living areas. However, what makes this such an excellent place to stay is the wonderful hospitality from themselves and from their Manager and staff who ensure everything during your stay runs smoothly! It is an ideal location so is also a practical base from which to explore Marrakech.
