We stayed here for seven nights, with our two adult children, from Dec 31st on. We booked directly with M. Clerel, who my wife knew from work. The riad is very nice, modern clean, with a friendly obsequious French-speaking staff, who transferred us to/from the airport, made breakfast, set up the onsite hammam appointments (350 dirhams each, plus a 50DIR tip, two girls came in from the outside for the hot-room skin scrubbing, and the oil-massage, both very good), and generally helped with any call we needed to make. Free wireless connection (works on ground floor and in room above computer room), cable TV to see all the Arabic stations (and BBC, etc). It was a 2.8 km walk to the main square Djema El Fna, and we walked there or around the medina all the time. Marrakesh is very safe, used to tourists, little or no begging. The riad was a good and comfortable and very reasonably priced base for exploring Marrakesh. Rooftop has four comfortable lounge chairs for reading in the warm January sun.
