“Moroccan & Italian cuisine in pleasant setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013 via mobile

We sat in the covered courtyard for dinner and enjoyed a combo of Moroccan and Italian fare. The "harira" soup was very tasty. The pasta dishes were basic and fine, but nothing special.

Wine is available. The staff was pleasant.

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We went here 3 time times! Twice for food and once on the way back to our riad for a drink. The lamb and apricot tagine is delicious. Falls straight off the bone! The cheese pastries as appetizers are great! Extensive western and Moraccan menu. Knock your socks off cosmopolitans as well as other great cocktails and and wonderful wine list! Its located in the centre of the Medina and not too far from the main square. Comfy modern setting. Will go back!

“Beautiful setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Toward the end of our trip, we had many wonderful tagines, but we were ready for something different. we had read in previous Trip Advisor reviews, that when you are tired of tagines, go to the Cafe Arabe. They do have tagines & other Morrocan fair, but they have very good italian food as well.
The Cafe Arabe is a lovely multi level restaurant. The downstairs section is warm & cozy. we opted for the terrace, on the roof. It was cold, so they had the clear plastic sides down, but you still could see the city lights. Our italian dishes were delicious & hit the spot, after having so many tagiines. It was a nice change.

“Bar is good, restaurant average at best.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

We popped in late morning and had a nice coffee and soft drinks on the terrace - nice service and thought it would be good to come back for dinner that evening.
We booked to sit downstairs in the open air section as it looked good.
We arrived early and decided to go back upstairs for cocktails - they let us use a table that was booked for food later and the service was as good as the morning.
Down at the restaurant things got worse. The staff seem disinterested despite it being less than half full - they don't want to explain the menu, and seemed happier chatting at the bar. The food was ok nothing special and certainly the worst we have had so far.
Go for a drink - but eat elsewhere would be our recommendation.
