“Very romantic stay in a beautiful riad with top service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2010

Very nice riad in romantic oriental style, in a quiet area of the very vibrant Medina, yet close enough to the central square Jemaa El Fna. Beautiful and comfortable rooms, beautiful patio and beautiful terrace on the roof, where breakfast is served under a shrine in the sun. The whole place has a very romantic, oriental feeling. Also very nice: wireless internet throughout the building, and free use of their computer if you did not bring your own laptop.

But if there is one thing that makes this a great place to stay, then it is the quality of the staff: Paolo (the owner), Mohammed, Ismael and the two cleaning ladies are very friendly and they really give the best of themselves to attend to each and every need of their clients. Just a couple examples for illustration:
* we were picked up from the airport by a taxi arranged by the riad, and in the same way brought back at the end of our stay; this was included in the service
* Upon arrival, Mohammed gave us not only a tour of our suite and of the riad, but also a map and an explanation of the most interesting places to visit and useful do's and don'ts when visiting the city as tourists, plus an offer to organise sightseeings if we wanted
* Every day when we came back in our rooms, the place was cleaned to perfection, soft lights turned on and fresh flower petals on our bed and in the bathroom
* the first days, when we did not know our way around the city yet, we were walked to the restaurant, the central square, the spa, ... by Mohamed or Ismael, who meanwhile explained us all they could about the city
* Breakfast in the warm morning sun was simple but nice, but Ismael and the ladies were ready to bring us whatever add-ons we liked: fruit, omelet, ...
* We had to leave very early in the morning, but Ismael got up at 4h00 to bring us coffee and thee in our room ...

Paulo, your staff is super! Make sure you take care of them!

This was our first trip to Morocco, but the wonderful Medina of Marrakech and our great stay in Riad 58 Blu made us decide that it will certainly not be our last...

WOW!!!
This Riad just blew us away from the moment we arrived.
When the doors to the Riad opened we know straight away that we had made an amazing choice.
The staff of 'Riad 58 Blu' are simply the best. Mohammed organized out itinerary for us and I can only say that it was perfect for our needs. Ismael was an absolute treasure, nothing was too much for this man and his omelettes were absolutely spot on.
All the rooms in this Riad are beautiful and I would definitely return to this gem of a riad.

Everything that has been said before is all true. In the heart of the Medina everything is accessible within a 10 minute walk. We relied on Mohammad for all our trips. A top restaurant, a guided tour in the mountains with an english speaking driver and much much more. A place we will always remember and would recommend this fantastic royal palace riad!

I highly recommend this traditional Riad with its friendly staff that makes you feel at home.
The italian hospitality of the owner ,Paolo is very impressive.
You just kick of your stress and let them pamper you until your departure.
Better then any tour guide they can give you very useful tips on how to make the best of your stay in Marrakech.
Enjoy it as much as I did!

Our first visit to Marrakesh, we stayed at the peaceful Riad 58 Blu. Our expectations were high as we had read so many rave reviews prior to booking and we were not disappointed. Indeed, the Riad exceeded our expectations. It is owned and managed by a charming Italian guy called Paolo who is ably assisted by Mohammed and 'Smiley' plus a couple of hard working cleaners who even polish the leaves of the plants, such is the attention to detail. The Riad is spotless and tranquil beyond words. Beautiful tiles abound together with Moroccan tapestries to offer guest a unique experience. Breakfasts on the terrace were of exeptional quality. The rooms were beautifully furnished and comfortable in every way. I appreciated the free use of the internet to check the occasional business mail.
All the team at Riad 58 Blu went out of their way to ensure our stay would be memorable. They booked us an excellent guide to take us round the town and another to visit the Mountains and a real Berber family home. (We would recommend guest book their guides this way and avoid the less reputable offers of 'guides' that approach tourists from time to time).
The Riad is a 10 minute walk from the main square and removed from any busy roads, enhancing its tranquility. Fully recommend! Paul & Jane.

Traveling to Morocco was an added adventure on a 7 week adventure through Europe/Eastern Europe. When I arrived in Marrakesh I had no Lonely Planet and no clue of what to do outside of visiting the souks. Not to worry because my guardian angel Mohammad, the manager at Riad 58 Blu, set me up with the best itinerary a girl could ask for. When I told Mohammad I needed to change $, he took me on his motorcycle through the city to change money, make a massage appointment and buy some "sweets" for my mom. He arranged my tour to the Atlas mountains, my dinner reservations, and most especially important is that he took the time to chat with me about Morocco and the people, that is priceless. When I returned from the Atlas Mountain tour my laundry was washed and folded as a kind gesture. I have never found a more friendly and kind place to lay my head, and I've backpacked through 70 countries to date!
