If you are looking for something a bit different from the usual tourist hotel experience then Riad 58 Blu provides authentic, comfortable accommodation coupled with personal, friendly service. Paolo, the owner, assisted by Mohammed and 'Smile' make guests very welcome and go out of their way to see new arrivals quickly familiarised with their surroundings.

The included airport transfers are a welcome essential in getting to and from Riad 58 Blu with our driver waiting for us for over an hour due to a delayed flight and walking us to the door of the Riad with our luggage. Within an hour of arrival at the Riad we were served with a welcome mint tea and guided by 'Smile' through the narrow streets and alleys to a money change facility and then to a recommended restaurant off the main square.

When staying in the Riads around the Medina be prepared to rub shoulders with the locals and experience life in the raw. Expect to be wakened by the Muezzin's call to prayers at the nearby mosque and dodge the constant flow of scooters, bicycles and donkey carts which stream around the alleyways. Whilst we always felt safe, the enclosed alleyways and streets can be intimidating at first and 'Smile's' introductory walk to the big square was a reassuring help in navigating to and from the Riad.

In summary Riad 58 Blu provides a welcoming, peaceful and comfortable resort from the bustle and heat of Marrakech.

well as we always do these days we booked this riad after reading the reviews on here and i must say they are pretty accurate. From the moment we arrived by cab just 100 meters from the riad we were tricked into having our bags carried by a couple of young lads claiming to work for the riad, they as you have guessed ended up taking us on a half mile de tour before getting to the riad. once at the riad we were greeted with a warm welcome by mohammed. once inside mohammed correctly stated that nothing in marrakech is free this turned out to be very true, while inside the riad we felt very relaxed, the moment we left each day we were on our guard ready for on coming scams.
In terms of value for money marrakech is a strange place as some things like cabs can be very cheap with fares as low as £1 to the new town..however if you, like us like an alcoholic drink or three..this can be expensive...in particular nicki beach, pacha, bars near the casino rose bar etc etc....here expect to pay £10 for a 250ml bottle of lager....or £ 125 for a bottle of there "cheaper wine".....if im honest food quality around the medina square is poor and this forced us into higher end resteraunts none of which were cheap....so back to the riad excellent service, clean rooms, beautiful decor etc, expensive kick back trips (shop owners pay your driver or riad? to viit them etc) we visited 10 on 1 trip! but best of all was mohammed and his team who treated us like family from start to finish...i would recommend this riad to anybody who wants to be at the centre of the old town in the action ! once again thanks to mohammed and his team !

Just returned from Riad 58 Blu, after staying 5 nights.
Excellent pick up/drop off airport/hotel transfers (included in the price). The Riad as everyone else has said is lovely- clean and feels spacious inside, very calm and almost tranquil atmosphere. Stayed in the Emerald suite, ground floor next to pool. First impressions were a large room with comfortable sofa and nice authentic décor. A few niggles- the safe didn’t work properly- we took to locking the wooden wardrobe door and hiding that key and the room/city advice sheet- in French only (poor considering number of British/Italian visitors).
The service by staff was excellent. Ishmael couldn’t do enough for you, he seems to work day and night, and remained extremely helpful throughout our stay. Mohammed assisted in booking the day trip out to the Atlas Mountains Note: cheaper than booking through a tour company (however realised that chap who took us was a taxi driver (who took us back to the airport!)
We had booked the half board option- which I now wish we hadn’t. You couldn’t fault the location; the roof terrace or the service (Ishmael), however we did find the meals disappointing. Breakfast was the same everyday- no choice (as others have said- different styles of pancakes/bread. Evening meal- again no choice. The first two days were fine starter- salad, main- chicken or lamb tagine then fruit basket. Subsequent nights the quality of the meals reduced still soup/salad to start, then either a tagine loaded with large chunks of root vegetables (no meat) or couscous again with large chunks of root vegetables. I must admit neither myself or my husband enjoyed these meals (however that may be because we like spices/flavoured food). I think that I wrongly thought seeing this Riad had an Italian owner we may have been offered slightly different fare- obviously not.
Unknown to us before booking this holiday, Ramadan started on our second day. However there was no problem drinking/eating out. Some shops/restaurants shut early, however the biggest problem was finding places to go during the day as lots of major sites were closed, including the main hammans.
Marrakech- we found exhausting. No one has mentioned yet- the number of motorbikes/scooters that race up and down all the alley ways and unbelievably inside the souks. You take your life in your hands every time you step out of the door, and you’re on your guard all of the time. We also found the shops and souks frustrating; we’ve been to Souks before so are well aware of the bartering, but the continuous and constant harassment received from not only shop keepers but it seems everyone you pass wears you down after two days. We felt we were continuously saying ‘No ’ and this took away the enjoyment of the whole experience.
Back to the trip to the atlas mountains- Good value, but beware you’ll stop at a house, and told take pictures of mountains from the roof terrace as good view. Before you know it you’re guided into this shop and again- the sales men have got you into their trap. Then further along the road, you stop again at a natural pharmacy- again you’ll be escorted round some gardens, then you will be expected to sit through a sales pitch for spices/creams etc again with a view to buy something. Once at the river- we hired a guide (very cheap) to take us up to the waterfall- take sturdy shoes as expect lots of climbing. We travelled with a lovely Italian couple who noticed that the driver tended to phone ahead to alert people of our arrival!
All in all, I’d say that Marrakech has fallen typically into the tourist trap ( my husband whose recently been to Fez and northern Morocco says its more relaxing up there with none of the continuous hassle from hawkers- so may be worth considering).
Don’t go expecting a relaxing holiday- but yes you’ll have an adventure, and Riad 58 Blu is a lovely place to stay for a couple of nights, but for a longer stay I would certainly look at staying in one of the outlying hotels- away from the hustle and bustle.

Room Tip: Email hotel before visiting if you have any questions i.e trips out/hammans etc very helpfull

We stayed at this riad for our first trip to Marrakech.
We were met at the airport (all part of the service!) and our driver walked us the last 50m to the door. It was 4.30 in the afternoon (and 44C!) and we had the warmest of welcomes from Paolo and Ismail with the coldest of beers! Blisss!
Our room was gorgeous, with stained glass windows opening onto the courtyard and pool. Beautifully decorated and air conditioned!
Paolo walked us to the square so we could get our bearings (about an 8 min walk) and left us to our own devices. We employed a guide for half a day (Khadija, lovely woman and only 350dh... ask Ismail) and did the sites and the souk. A great idea otherwise we would have got lost for sure!
The little shops on the junction where the Porte du Monde restaurant is (on the way to the square) are MUCH CHEAPER than the souk. You have been warned!
P du M is a perfectly nice place to eat, but do try and spoil yourself at the Grand Cafe de la Poste in Gueliz (a short cab run) or at the Tanjia (15 min walk).
Riad 58 Blu is simply marvellous, Ismail could not work harder to make your visit a joy (and brews a mean pot of mint tea!). Paolo is the ultimate host. Drinkie poos are available in the riad (including a very acceptable local red, served chilled).
Check in, shoes off, chill out. If there's anything you need, just ask. Ismail's brekkie omelettes are the only way to start the day!
We'll be back!

Great service from very friendly staff. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble - even escorting us to the main square on our first venture out so that we did not get lost. Peaceful, quiet, great decor and a lovely little plunge pool to cool off in at the end of a hot noisy day. Chilled beer ready and waiting for you too! Would very much recommend this Riad.

When you first arrive at the frony door of this place, it is hard to imagine that there is going to be a great riad behind the dark wooden door and high pinkish walls.
But the Riad 58 Blu was exactly that and more, we stayed as part of a 5day visit to Marrakech and its was a great stay.
The staff were probably one of the most helpful that i have every witnessed, with them actuallky walking us to the Djemaa el Fnaa (Big Square) and also to the Spa that we booked, They also recommended restaurants and booked us the tour of the Atlas mountains.
It was like no request was too big whihc was a great feeling.
The riad was probably not the largest one, but i think that helped as you got to chat to the other guests who were equally impressed by the riad and also by the maddness that is marrakech.
The breakfast was good, the rooms clean and in a very good location.

I would definatly recomend this place.
