This was our first visit to Morocco too and what a good choice we made with the Riad Idra! We were there for 5 nights for a break from the winter. We took advantage of Karine's offer to organise a car from the airport. The plate of nuts and dried fruits in the room was a lovely touch. Manageress Karine also helped us with directions, organised a trip to the Atlas mountains helped make sure that we saw all the things we had on our list. The Hammam at the Idra was another first for us and totally relaxing so just as well we could sit by the log fire in the lounge area afterwards and read. A home from home! All the staff were excellent and the place was spotless! The Riad Idra is in the Medina so within walking distance of all the main tourist sites. Marrakech is the photographer's paradise!

Dear Judy, Dear Roger,

Thank you very much for sharing your opinion about your stay in Riad Idra.
The natural light, the doors hiding pieces of paradise everywhere, the architecture of the monuments, the medina, the colors, the contrasts…and so many other things make Marrakech so special and so unique. As you said a “photographer’s paradise” !
We are glad you enjoyed your first visit to Morocco and we hope to see you again.
Kind regards,

Karine and the team

My wife and I just returned last week from a trip to Morocco. Our favorite thing about the trip by far was our stay at the Riad Idra. The limited number of rooms really creates an intimate experience between the host/staff and the guests. Karine and her staff made us feel like we were staying with a family.

We hadn't made any firm plans for the week and the suggestions that Karine made for day trips, cafes, restaurants and sight seeing were all amazing. The breakfast on the terrace was fabulous, no better way to start our days. We also had the food prepared at the Riad Idra one evening and it was superb. I'd recommend eating in the riad at least one night on your trip.

I can not recommend this place enough. If we are ever in Marrakech again, we would not even think about staying anywhere else.

This was our first trip to Marrakech and Morocco and we loved it! The experience would not have been the same or as special had we not stayed at Riad Idra....it was superb in every way! We chose to pay for the Riad transfers from and to the airport and we were exceptionally happy with this decision as it was so easy and we were escorted right to the door. Karine was so lovely and welcoming with all the information that you could possibly need. The Riad is ideally situated within the medina and is an oasis of tranquility even though it is so close to all the action. We felt very safe in the area that it's in. We were blown away with the standard of decor throughout with the best attention to detail that we've ever seen and ssooo clean. We enjoyed two beautiful dinners in the Riad, looked after so professionally & caringly by Omar. Breakfast on the roof terrace was such a wonderful start to the day with plenty of yummy food, lovely surroundings, peaceful and Redwane was so helpful and friendly it was hard to drag ourselves away. We enjoyed the Hammam experience and the massage that we had in the Riad also....not to be missed! I only wish we had more time there, we would most certainly stay there again if we return to Marrakech. We wholeheartedly recommend! Thank you to Karine, Omar and Redwane for making our stay so special. PS Omar, we have been enjoying our mint tea that we've been making at home....thank you for teaching us how to make it :-)

Thanks to all at the Riad Idra for the fabulous time we had last weekend! Karine the Manager welcomed us, settled us in, helped book tours and transfers, advised the best cafes to be in at sunset and gave as much local knowledge as we asked for. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were equally special: they put flowers on our bed for my birthday, made me a cake and sang me Happy Birthday in 4 languages! Not many places of accommodation would give this service! That's the beauty of Riad Idra though - they only have 7 bedrooms, so they can give 100% first class service! The Riad itself is a calm oasis in the middle of a busy, noisy Medina. Inside, the relaxing smell of orange blossom pervades, the rooms are luxurious and comfortable, and the food is something else! We ate in the Riad 2 nights out of 3, and the food was not only great quality and very tasty, it was also good value if you can manage 4 courses! The breakfasts are served on the rooftop terrace (there plenty of these to explore in the Medina!) which was a suntrap: there was also the opportunity to relax on some sun loungers if you had had enough of the hustle and bustle outside. We loved Riad Idra and will recommend it to all our friends who are looking for a venue offering comfort, culture and class. It more than deserves the rave reviews for which we chose it! To all the members of staff and Karine - Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Room Tip: Only saw 2, but they were equally luxurious and comfortable.

Superb Riad in Marrakech
Wonderful place in the heart of The Medina: silence and privacy are guaranteed and the interior decoration is both traditional and functional with very well selected pieces of furniture. Comfortable bed and top class linen, very well equipped bathrooms with soft sponge bathrobe. The fancy traditional leather babouche are included as a souvenir. The breakfast is rich and very good 3 course dinner a can be booked in a cozy setting by the modern fireplace. Don't miss the hammam for 2 with the scrub: something to die for.
What makes Idra superb is not just all I wrote above, but mainly the staff. Karine was a perfect host, always ready to provide any kind of information and every single staff made its best to make this experience unforgettable.

An ideal Riad from which to base any trip to Marrakech. Clean, great showers, comfortable bed, good food, friendly staff, and a manageress (Karine) for which nothing was too much trouble. Do ring to arrange a transfer from the airport - well worth it. If you want to book any trips Karine will do that for you as well and probably at less cost than you would pay by prebooking. Definitely a place I would return to.
