I write this sitting on the Riad Idra's fantastic roof-top terrace on our last night in Marrakesh. Our few days here have been nothing short of perfection. While the riad is certainly not the least expensive in the Medina, it offers, without a doubt, some of the very best value for money we've enjoyed in all our years of travel. Absolute 5-star treatment and amenities in a package the size of a large B&B. The premises are refined and sophisticated, yet unbelievably comfortable and unpretentious. The common spaces -- roof terrace and sun loungers, central courtyard, etc -- are spacious enough to afford so much tranquility and privacy. This with the hustle and bustle of the Medina just outside the front door. Karine, the house manger, has catered to our every inquiry and gone out of her way to help us make the most of our first visit to Marakech according to our own needs and interests. Mr Omar, the house waiter, has been absolutely top-notch: gracious, funny, attentive and kind. Our party's rooms were beautifully appointed and impeccably maintained. Meals were delightful: perfectly presented and carefully prepared. Thanks so much to Karine, Mr Omar, and all the house's excellent staff, who should all be proud of what they have built here! We will absolutely be back and look forward to calling Riad Idra home again soon!

This hotel is so pretty that you can't stop taking photos. Although the room we got wasn't the one we booked (it was much smaller, that was my only issue), everything else was perfect. Stuff very helpful, food was amazing. Very cozy and quiet. Everything is so pretty! Breakfast at the roof top was incredible (be careful with bees!) If you never went to Morocco try NOT to arrive at night. The taxi will no be able to drop you at the door so you will have to walk about four blocks, making some turns and everyone will star walking towards you trying to guide you to the hotel for some change. It can get SCARY but this is normal. Is a good idea to spend the day and return to the hotel before 8.30. All the stores close at that time and when you get lost (9 out of 10 you will, unless you are very clear as to where you have to make a turn) there is nobody to ask that you can trust, only store owners. So after spending the day you can go back to the hotel and have dinner there (let them know in the morning)

Dear Sir, dear Madam,

Many thanks for sharing your experience at Riad Idra on the N°1 traveler’s website.
The main street Dar el Bacha, where your taxi driver dropped you, is absolutely safe. I understand that the “boys” standing there and trying to guide people and to get from them some change may be not very welcoming sometimes (in their way of talking ONLY) but there are guards and policeman standing there all day and all night long, so believe me, you shouldn’t worry about your safety.
I think the best way to avoid any experience similar to yours is to call the Riad before the arrival so we can send someone from our team to welcome you at Dar el Bacha. We are also able to arrange the transfer from the airport or from anywhere else so it can make things easier.
We hope to see you again in our Riad and we wish the best for 2014.

Kind regards,

Karine and the team

This place is extraordinary. At one point I was at the front desk speaking with another guest, and we both commented on how incredible Riad Idra was, but we hated to write a great review because it would possibly mean that it would be more difficult to stay the next time around - more crowded, more expensive. But this enchanting place, and it's crown jewel Karine, deserve the highest accolades. It's magical, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Marrakesh.

Wow! I'm not sure holiday accommodation can get any better than Riad Idra.
My wife and I spent 4 days in Marrakash on a 'Baby Moon'. We where picked up from the hotel and delivered comfortably and safely to the Riad where we were welcomed by Karine and a lovely cup of Mint Tea. We had a little unexpected treat in store as we had been up-graded to the suite!
Riad Idra is a true oasis. It is clean, well decorated - we have pinched a few ideas for our own home - and extremely comfortable. Its perfectly located in the old town too. Every thing is in walking distance. The service is friendly, professional - second to none. Karine was extremely helpful in suggesting places to eat and must see sights.
We had pre-booked a Haman at a spa nearby but decided to cancel it and have one in the Riad instead. If you have never had a Haman before, I thoroughly recommend it! Especially after a busy day in the souks. They have a little massage room too. One stand out point for us was the breakfast. Breakfast was held on the roof terrace which was lovely and calm and a little sun trap. Breakfast started with fresh fruit salad followed by a local dish, which changed every day, followed by home made pastries, breads and jams. Yum. We actually regret not trying dinner here too.
Don't think twice about booking here. It is truly fantastic. You will be very well looked after.

Room Tip: We had the suite which had a jacuzzi bath! Awesome!

An oasis in the middle of the Medina; incredible attention to detail from the moment you arrive. Beautiful property, delicious breakfast, impeccable service. The manager, Karine, made our Marrakech trip exceed our expectations which were pretty high already. I never write reviews but Riad Idra is definitely worth it; don't think twice before booking, you are in the best hands.

Very charming Riad with lovely manageress and staff! Manageress, Karine and her team were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and our room along with the entire Riad was very peaceful, clean and beautifully decorated. The Riad is in an excellent location within the Medina and Karine was excellent at sharing her local knowledge and advising our activities throughout our holiday. Would definitely recommend staying here and will definitely be returning in the near future.

Dear Genevieve,

We would like to thank you for having taken the time to write your opinion about your stay at Riad Idra.
It has been a pleasure for me to share with you my personal recommendation about the city, I usually try to adapt my tips according to the expectation of people (couple, friends, children & family…) and I’m glad you appreciated it.
Hygiene in Moroccan houses is very important and it seems you felt the Moroccan cleanness in our house.
We look forward to your return !
All the best,
