“Equally on par with a 5 star hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

My husband and I stayed at the Riad Idra on the weekend of November 8th. We were welcomed by Karine who is the manageress and she was incredible! The Riad is centrally located and easy to find once you get your bearings of all the ally's and streets. The room we stayed in was overlooking the court yard and was absolutely gorgeous the only downside was that one morning a group of people were leaving early and they woke us up as they were chatting loudly in the court yard. The breakfast was served on the terrace and was so fresh and healthy a great way to start our day. Karine was so helpful by sitting us down and outlining an itinary for us. She understood us as a couple which was great as she pointed us in the right direction of all the things that appealed to us, like resturants, shops, cocktail bars and all the cultural things. We had our own itinary from reading books and researching on the Internet but luckily Karine re wrote it for us and it was for the best and made our weekend so much more enjoyable. The Riad is really clean, smells beautiful at all times and the staff are so attentive, efficient and friendly overall a really special experience. Enjoy Marrakesh we felt really safe as all the police are undercover make sure you check out les bains de Marrekesh for a hamman such good fun, eat in the souk, take a horse and cart ride around the city, go to le Comptoire for dinner and belly dancing, cafa Arab for drinks, le jardin for drinks, and spend time in the souks and markets so so fab just people watching and buying loads of souveniers. We went to cafe France to watch Sunset very chilled xx

Extremely helpful, warm and friendly staff.
Tranquil oasis inside the Medina. Beautifully furnished and finished.
Various lovely areas for sitting around the riad.
Has a lovely mini-spa/hammam. Therapists were very good.
Pretty terrace but no view. Food was delicious.
There is an area for sunbathing on the terrace with a shower to cool off.
A beautiful fountain in the courtyard that you could use as a pool, but would be pretty conspicuous being overlooked by all the rooms, and not having the sun loungers on that level.
There is an elevator for those who find stairs difficult.
Most souk merchants take cash only. A few have credit card facilities. Therefore one always needs cash. Although there was a bureau de change nearby, the autobanks were not.

Room Tip: All rooms face onto the courtyard (as in most riads), so expect to hear peoples' voices. Unless...

Our stay at Riad Idra can be summed up in one word - Wow! A beautiful and luxurious Riad which is a haven of tranquility in contrast to the hustle and bustle of the Medina outside the front door. The location is great, the food is delightful and the level of service is impeccable. The airport transfer service made the start and end of our trip totally stress-free.

Once you're inside the riad and the door is closed, you feel like your in another world. Pretty little place which is tastefully decorated, you will soon be greeted by Karine with her beautiful smile, great hospitality and #1 service. She recommended some restaurants to us and even called for reservations, she even made sure we get the best table! we felt so special and well taken care of. In the morning enjoy the hearty Moroccan breakfast on the roof, missing something? just ask, and and Karine and her lovely staff will make sure its there. Leaving the riad was a heart breaking moment, I will definitely stay there in the future and I recommend it to everyone.

Room Tip: We stayed in (Warda) upstairs, very nice room.

This was a wonderful experience. The service was so personal and individual that it felt like we were the only ones there. It was amazing to me that it was located right in the center of town, yet I felt that I was in a different world when I was inside the of the property. This was the perfect place for a relaxing and romantic getaway.

We had a warm welcome on arrival. Friendly staff and Karine is very helpful and took all efforts to make our stay pleasant. On our first day the room was a bit noisy. and we could hear the neighbours but rest of our stay was very comfortable.
Hotel is in the middle of medina with all attractions within walking distance. Once in the hotel you really in an oase of peace and tranquillity, completely shielded from all the noises of the souk's. In the morning Redoune served us with delicious Moroccan breakfast.

Negative: Our room was below the breakfast lounge on the top and in the morning we were disturbed by the noise of tables being moved on the ceiling of our room, this was annoying.

Room Tip: There was a door separating the two joining rooms, no solid wall. If TV is on or neighbour snore, yo...

Very nice property. It was so peaceful and the service is top rated. Room are absolutely beautiful. The property is located within walking distance of the Souks and the main square which makes it ideal. Hearty breakfast. I absolutely loved the fresh pastries, breads, and the fresh squeeze orange juice served during breakfast. Karin and her staff did they best to make sure that our stay would be a memorable one. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone planning a trip to Marrakech. It's a perfect retreat for couples who just want to enjoy each other.
