“Book without thinking twice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We stayed at Riad Idra for 3 days, and I have not had a more pleasant stay anywhere else. Karine is tremendously helpful, always giving useful information and advice, and we found some really good places to eat thanks to her (Le Chat qui rit, Cafe des la Poste, Le Studio). She even got us reservation when we weren't sure if we'd get tables etc.The Riad is gorgeous, very tastefully decorated and maintained to an extremely high standard, everyone is friendly, and its a short 5-10 min walk away from everywhere you want to visit in the Medinah. The two best known Hammams are right around the corner as well, and the new town isn't far either. The room itself was exactly as you can see online when booking it and I would recommend this Riad to anyone going to Marrakech for a holiday.

Riad Idra is not accessible by car, so when we first arrived, our taxi parked about a 5-10 minute walk away, and our luggage was swooped up by a kid who we had to hope was leading us in the right direction (and who, of course, did not like the tip we gave him). After a long day's journey, we arrived at Riad Idra's door feeling really exhausted, both physically and mentally.

Karine and Omar greeted us with smiles and a very warm welcome. We were invited to sit in the pleasant, quiet courtyard and have some tea and sweets before heading to our room. This was just the unwinding we needed.

Our room, Ahlam, was really pretty and peaceful. We had a nice view of the courtyard and all the amenities we could want -- hair dryer, toiletries, slippers, robes, water, and another tray of Moroccan goodies. Everything was very clean, and it was suitably spacious for two people, too.

A beautiful breakfast on the rooftop terrace was the perfect way to start each day, and we loved coming back to Idra every day after the bustle of the medina. It's in a great location for exploring the medina -- central, and after the first time or two, it's easy to remember how to find it (not to be taken for granted in the medina!)

The staff were excellent -- there as soon as you needed them, but happy to leave you on your own when you were relaxing. Everyone was friendly and attentive.

We stayed in four different hotels in Morocco, and Riad Idra was our favorite. I would recommend it for anyone staying in Marrakech medina.

Dear Karen,

I have to say, you review and the photos of the Riad are awesome ! Many thanks !
In a hotel, the attention to details (breakfast, amenities, cleanness…) is very important and we really insist on that. The satisfaction of our guests is our daily priority and we are very glad to read those lovely words about your stay at our house.
The team and I would be very delighted to welcome you again at Riad Idra for your next stay in Marrakech.
Please, pass on our regards to your mother.

Kind regards,

Karine and the team

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Riad Idra. After reading the good reviews we arrived with great expectations, and we are glad to say that we were not disappointed. This lovely riad is absolutely SUPERB! Karine and her staff are just wonderful; the interior has been furnished with such fabulous taste; and its location is ideal for exploring the medina and the new city. From the moment you step inside Riad Idra, you enjoy the calm and comfort. All the staff are very attentive and discreet at all times - breakfast was served on the roof terrace and this was most enjoyable. We have stayed in many top hotels all over the world, but this is the first time I have written a review as I cannot fault this little gem!

The riad is very nicely decorated with elegant touch. Manager Karine and the team are very friendly, sweet and helpful. When we arrived, we were greeted with complementary Mint tea and Moroccan dessert. Those desserts are very delicious and not as sweet as what we usually have. The riad is close to all main attractions and in a quite street away from the crowd. Overall I give it 10 out of 10. Riad Idra is definitely the place to stay if we return to Marrakech.

My wife and I decided to return to the wonderful city of Marrakech but this time with our 2 teenage daughters between 30th March - 3rd April 2013. What a treat we have just experienced at Riad Idra! From the moment Karine greeted us with some freshly brewed mint tea with Moroccan pastries, followed by a beautifully cooked dinner on the terrace, we knew this was to be something special. Nothing was too much trouble and we certainly made the most of the Riad, by having a Hamman and Massage as well...magical! Breakfasts on the Terrace were another highlight of this superbly maintained and run Riad. The Souks, smells and sights of Marrakech were enchanting but it was always great to return to our peaceful "oasis" at Riad Idra. Karine also organised a super trip to the desert at a location called La Pause less than an hour away...well worth it!
A special thanks to Karine, Omar and Redwan who made us feel so welcome. We have already recommended Riad Idra and will continue to do so. Thanks to you all

Room Tip: All rooms looked as good as each other!

Riad Idra is an oasis of light and tranquility in the heart of the Medina. We had the privilege of staying there three nights and fell in love with this address peaceful, despite the animation nearby souks. The impeccable hospitality was provided by Karine whose advice helped us discover a very nice address in the center of the old town. Care is personalized, respectful and finesse, like Omar, our butler. The food here is excellent and the breakfasts on the terrace absolutely heavenly. More than an address to advise, it is a chance for the traveler.

We spent four nights in March 2013 at the Riad Idra. We have discovered a lovely place in Marrakech. Very quiet, it is located close to the souk and the Jemma El Fna place is only 10 minutes away. Karine is the cornerstone of the place and you will find her checking for every detail. She is also always taking the time to help organizing visits, restaurants and anything you need. We decided to have a hammam in the Riad and it was such a great experience, we would do it again! We had dinner at the Riad Idra and it was once again a great discovery, with excellent food and service. Do not forget to take a minute in the patio and enjoy a drink, it is such a lovely place.
All the staff was simply great and friendly. It is so great to come back from the noisy Medina and find a peaceful place to rest.
We also enjoyed having breakfast on the terrasse. So beautiful!
For sure we will come back to the Riad Idra.
