“Indulgent relaxation at the Palace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

The Es Saadi Palace is an oasis of friendliness and graciousness, serenity and refinement, with a quality of service that is second to none.

The architecture of the building and the design of the interior are eyecatching, and there is an array of excellent local handiwork and handicraft throughout the building: handwoven carpets and sumptuous fabrics, tiles and mosaics, woodcarving and metalwork, and original paintings. In the lobby one can listen to soft exotic music played by a musician while sipping freshly brewed mint tea.

The hotel is set in a tranquil tropical garden of palms and palmettos, orange and pomegranate trees, roses and bougainvilleas, which surround a large freeform lagoon pool with an island bar. Parasols and very comfortable sunloungers surround the lagoon, and large soft towels are provided for swimmers. There are two other swimming pools: one outside and another in the spa, both heated. The spa provides a sensual sanctuary with a comprehensive range of pampering beauty treatments, massages, thermae, and a traditional hammam; and there is a superbly equipped fitness room. The hotel, garden and pools are immaculately upkept by a large team of staff.

The generous buffet breakfast is laid out in a restaurant that opens onto a garden terrace, and guests can eat inside or at the tables outside. Delicious light meals are available in the Bio du Bled and the Lagon & Jardin restaurants, and there are two bars.

Dining in the Cours des Lions restaurant is a memorable experience. The talented chef and his excellent team of kitchen staff provide a delicious feast of tagines, couscous and artistically presented desserts. Dining at a table on the terrace affords a view of Marrakech as the night sky darkens and the city lights come on; and dining inside allows one to feel the breeze wafting through the doors that open onto the terrace. The impeccably trained waiters, the stunning decor, soft music, candles, beautiful tableware and very comfortable chairs enhance the dining experience. This is very fine dining indeed.

Staying in a spacious suite with a balcony overlooking the gardens allows for a truly restful stay. My superbly appointed executive suite had a luxurious bathroom; a dressing room; a sumptuous four-poster bed; a dining table set with complementary wine, bottled water, fruit, and honey cakes; a desk; two large televisions; a wonderfully comfortable divan; handwoven carpets; and fully adjustable airconditioning; and the balcony was furnished with a sunlounger, a table and two chairs.

Overall, the Es Saadi Palace is a base for exploring the exotic city of Marrakech and is a place for indulgent relaxation.

I just want to start by saying: Please do not mistake the PALACE for the HOTEL. they are two different properties, although they are located on the same grounds.

I will start by posting the "Con's" of the Palace (since most of the reviews pretty much repeat themselves by saying how great the Palace is):

1) there is no iron. you have to pay to get your clothes ironed and you need to at least give them 24 hours notice.
2) there is no clock in the room. (that's if you need one... i like to know what time it is every now and again lol so it was a little bother to me)

With that being said, i LOVE the Palace Es Saadi. It's located 10 minutes walking distance from the Medina (which is in the center of Marrakech). that's where all the spice markets are located.

The service is Incredible. Breakfast was delicious every morning. The waiters are extremely nice.
It's worth the price as opposed to the less expensive hotel.

Dear Guest from New York,

Thanks a lot for your time writing this great review, and thank you for the love you sent us.
About the iron, we used to make it available in the rooms ... and did get bad surprises : towels, carpets, blankets, curtains etc ... have been burned, so we decided only to offer Palace ironing by our housekeeping team. If you are in a hurry, it could be done in less than 30 minutes. And yes, we don not have clock in the rooms ... but we should have it in the future on the new TVs.

Thanks again for sharing your pleasant experience with us,

Very pleasant hotel, good restaurant, lovely pool. Staff most welcoming and attentive. The air conditioning in the room was good. Normally you can adjust this but we couldn't do so so luckily it was just right.
We will return here.
Special thanks to Fatiha.

Room Tip: We were in a room looking over the pool. Little balcony which was good to sit out on. Cant rate the...

Dear Guest,

Thanks for your nice post !
Yes, we put a lot of training and attention to our staff, but we are lucky : in Morocco, most of the people are smiling and warmly welcoming.
I confirm that you can adjust +or- 5 degrees in your Suite with the Air Conditionned. And I did copy paste in an e-mail to Fatiha your recommandation.

Kindest regards from sunny Marrakech, enjoy summer

I stayed at the Es Saadi for a week-long business trip to Marrakech. One thing to keep in mind is that both the Hotel Es Saadi (cheaper, less luxurious) and the Palace (5-star treatment) are advertised on the same page, which can be very confusing. I stayed at the Palace (upon arrival we were surprised with an upgrade, which was wonderful) which came with all the facilities and comforts you'd expect from a 5-star hotel. The spa is actually really good - I had a hammam (divine) and used the indoor pool regularly (there's also a huge, outdoor pool). Highlights for me: the staff (always friendly, always helpful); the breakfast (generous and delicious); spa facilities; spacious room; free/great wifi connection (key if/when on a business trip); location - this was a major bonus, as the hotel was close enough to the medina (old town) but far enough so you feel you're getting away from the hustle and bustle of the square and souks.

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for your feed-back, the 3 individuals that you did mention in your post have been delivered your message.
Happy to read you enjoyed your stay despite ALL actors and organizers of the comedy festival were spending 4 days at the same time, creating some distraction and possibly disturbance with the shooting of the M6 french television presenting the ''hidden moments'' aside all shows in this week.

Warm regards from Marrakech

The hotel is conveniently located about a 20 minute walk from Jemaa Square. It has an excellent large pool in an attractive garden surrounding with plenty of room between the sun loungers. My room was large with a nice view over the pool. Access to the spa is included in the price, in particular use of the water jet pool and saunas. All the staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly. The only drawback was a weakness in the organisation of housekeeping which meant that one sometime had to chase to get things done.

This is my second visit to the Es Essadi Palace and again we stayed in one of the beautiful villas we booked the Maharaja Villa and I had friends staying in the Blue Villa and suites in the Palace. We had the time of our lives. The attention to detail at the palace was second to none. We had 14 of us staying there to celebrate my birthday, we stayed for 4 days and everyone had an amazing time. Highlights of the stay are the staff and the butlers, they are great and very attentive. The villa's are truly out of this world and amazing, the chef for making me the best birthday cake I have ever eaten, it was sublime, the only small issue was the nightclub, we had booked and the staff couldn't find our VIP booking and we had to wait a long time to get a drink, but saying that the club, the music and experience was great, better than in Ibiza!.

So all in all if you want a real luxury experience in Marrakesh the only place to stay is the Es Ssaadi, we are going back again for Christmas and all my firiends are booking too!!!!

Room Tip: Book a villa !!!

I booked a long weekend at the hotel for the 12-15th of June. When I arrived at the airport I was met by a lovely man ready to take us to the hotel. I was taken with my friend to the Palace part of the resort only to be told I was being surprised with an extremely generous upgrade from 5 star hotel to an Executive suite. The suite was payed out over 2 floors, with a beautiful terrace facing the infamous palace pool. Since the moment I arrived at this resort I do not think I could fault any service of this palace. From the amazing reception staff Zakariya to the fabulous pool staff Redwan and Hakim there was not one person who was not willing to help, all you have to do is ask. The proximity of the hotel to the Casino de Marrakesh and Theatro is lovely and even though there was a famous comedy festival (Marrakesh du Rire) going on in the hotel you could not tell it was fully booked. I spent a lovely weekend and left with beautiful memories. I would definitely recommend this palace again and urge others to see it for themselves. How it has received bad reviews I cannot understand. 6 stars from me a very happy client, and hope to see it again soon!!!
