My boyfriend and I spent 7 nights at Riad Opale in August. First of all the building and decor are beautiful. There is a lovely little pool (perfect for cooling off) and a roof terrace complete with a covered area and sunbeds (unfortunately they were quite stained).

The room we stayed in (Saphir Suite) was nice. The bed was huge and the furniture was beautiful and very traditional. You are only provided with one very flat pillow each, but there are cushions if, like me, you like to sleep with more. There is a TV and DVD player in the room, but it is impossible to get any UK channels, also, the WiFi is very patchy unless you are on the roof.

Our main problem was that there are NO LOCKS on the bedroom doors! On our third day my brand new Galaxy S3 was stolen from our room whilst we were in the swimming pool along with 400 dirhams (approx 40E). We reported it to the manager, but there was no apology whatsoever and only a comment about how it could not possible have been one of the members of staff as they are not authorised to enter bedrooms. The safe in the room was not working.

All other members of staff were lovely and the evening meal we had was delicious. Unfortunately breakfast is the same every day and is just a selection of breads and jam. The maid only cleaned our room twice and most days just handed us a loo roll.

Warm welcome and a clean room. Nice retreat to come back to away from the hussel bustle. Graduate couple age 23.

Pros:
Almost empty, relaxing, traditional, sun deck, safe, lovely bathrooms and decor.

Cons:
Dark rooms, no lock, poor recommendations from staff for over priced restaurants and bars...

This is a beautiful location, with an amazing roof deck, and the interior is pretty with wonderfully appointed rooms and a very nice small swimming pool. There are however, a few problems with this hotel. First, while advertising WiFi, it never worked. We stayed for 3 nights and every day would tell the hotel it wasn't working and there would puzzled looks on their faces. Second, there are no locks on the doors. While we got the safe to work (after using our own batteries), there is still a desire to have a lock on a door when one is away from the room. Third, the breakfast was pretty lousy. For the ambiance (and the price) one would think of a breakfast consisting of more than an English muffin and a yogurt. The location is nice, but it's a little walk to the main square and medina - we walked at night though and never felt threatened.

Have just got back from 3 nights at Riad Opale. There was two families, 7 people in total, had 3 rooms so it was nearly all for us. Staff excellent, couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast simple but sufficient for our needs, kids didn't complain so always a good sign. Had dinner in house one night and it was beautiful. Vegetarians to cater for they did a great job. Rooms always clean, showers interesting once you realized you need 10mins to heat the water. Place very charming and just what we wanted having spent a week in Agadir. Definately need someone to take you there because I doubt you would find it yourself. Pool a little too cold but probably the time of year, kids still went in. Overall would recommend for just a couple of nights.
