Service was excellent, as was presentation, but did not feel that the food was that much better than other restaurants which cost a lot less.

Preferred another restaurant (which I could find again but unfortunately do not remember the name) whicxh offered similar food in a rooftop setting, and also was happy for the four of us to share two set menu meals- the amount of food offered on the Moroccan set menus are too much normally for one person to enjoy.

Went there for a birthday dinner our first night in.Marrakesh... Wonderfully authentic, intimate small restaurant in old city. Staff was friendly and sat us by the fireplace. Tasty Moroccan pancake bread and a nice bottle of local Sahari merlot started things off. Then ten delicious small dish salads arrived, followed by tagine, of course. Highlight was the birthday song with Berber musicians spinning their hat tassels like helicopters while a sparklers illuminated a sweet almond cake.

The excellent food and attentive service can't detract from the fact that you could eat authentic, tasty Moroccan food with less decorum for a whole week with what you pay for the "menu dégustation" (over 60 euros per person, a truly excessive price).

We have travelled reasonably widely and thought that Le Tobsil provided excellent authentic Morrocan food in an atmospheric setting. We found the service attentive but not overbearing and although there was an element of theatre in the service it added to the dining experience rather than detracted from it. The food itself was excellent and the use of spices refined to a fine art.
