“A nice break from the souks, but a little overrated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

We stumbled in after wandering around the souks. The food was average, the service was horrible. All of our requests were met with a sneer from the staff, but maybe that was just his face?
The ambience was lovely amongst the roses, but the food was not the best we had in Marrakech. Worth popping in for a tea (expensive) and some photos.

“Lonely planet recommends - bring lots of cash”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Although the front of the riad looks like you're being led into a carpet-cavern where you'll be locked in until you've parted with £100, actually, once the staff have shown you to the courtyard, this restaurant is very nice. Small tables are dotted around a garden with a small fountain in the center, and you can site and watch the song birds and tortoises whilst enjoying coffee. The riad menu they first bring up is purely extortion, however if you look a bit poor and a bit meek, they bring out the THIRD menu with much better prices - with a set-price lunch menu of 3 or 4 items for about 100 dirhams each. Hold out for this, otherwise you'll pay that for a salad!

“A carpet salesman sent us . . .”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

A carpet salesman sent us & it wasn't too bad. The setting is gorgeous buried in the middle of the riad. A set price lunch for 250dh or a la carte for 150dh or so. The usual tagines, brochettes but they also have pastilla.

“Looking for Mr Benn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This restaurant was recommended in my guide book, we had to ask for directions as it's right in the middle of the souk. Walking through the back of a carpet shop and down corridors it reminded me of Mr Benn; being transported to another world. The court yard was beautiful and tranquil and immediately I thought : this is going to be expensive ! We thought about turning round and leaving as we were on a shoestring budget but ended up staying. We shared the mixed vegetarian salad which was enough for two with the bread, was fairly tasty and cost 90 dirams. Not a bad experience but not worth the money in my opinion.

“Tourist trap”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

The food was poor for the price we paid!!!

We ordered a few tagines and skewers. Having been to a few decent local places before this, we expected the tagine to have some sauces to dip ur bread into. Instead the tagine came out dry and it tasted as though it was reheated in a big pot and just scooped into the tagine for serving. Pastilla was a rip off at 165 dirham each given the size.
