“Absolutely best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

"Home away from home" is absolute best way to describe this place. The most friendly team I have met anywhere (and I have been on the road for quite awhile). Fred and Cathy welcome you to their home, not just giving you best authentic experience ever. Amazing location, absolutely stunning design and terrace, relaxing chic atmosphere, fireplaces inside room and around riad- it made our stay the highlight of Morocco. Special warm thank you to Fred, FZ and hammam ladies:)
If you need to arrange dinner, get recommendation, hire a guide, Laaroussa team will take care of it in the most seamless way.
Must stay here when in Fes!

Room Tip: We stayed in Grey room- amazing! (Staircase maybe a bit too steep for small kids or elderly)

Phenomenal riad with phenomenal service. The room was great (we had the yellow room); the service was excellent; the hammam was terrific; everything about the riad.laaroussa was amazing - we were sad not to stay longer. Definitely get them to pick you up from the airport -did not cost vey much and it was well worth it - we would have been lost without tem.

Room Tip: Yellow room was great! Private bath; beautiful room and sitting area as well

We had a wonderful week's stay in a beautiful riad. A warm welcome from the staff. Spacious and beautiful bedroom suites. Lovely courtyard and spectacular views from the terrace. Good food. Staying here was like being welcomed into an open and stress free family who were always helpful. The owners are very hands on and warmly welcoming at all times (admirably they support children's projects in the community with part of their income). All our needs were met, travel, restaurants etc etc. Departure at 5am managed very smoothly with excellent breakfast at 4.30! We will certainly stay here again and fully recommend it.

This riad is a treasure. It is so beautifully restored, with wonderful rooms. We received an upgrade to a big room with a fireplace, but the loft we were showed was adorable and i was a little sad to leave it. The owners are incredibly friendly and often around to answer any questions about Fes or just to chat. The staff is also really fun-loving and easy to talk to. We enjoyed meeting them. The view from the roof terrace is a great view of Fes and probably the best roof terrace view we saw from the four riads we stayed at in Morocco. The staff found us a tour guide for a half day that was very reasonably priced. My favorite thing was that when we left for dinner, they came in to make up our bed, light the fireplace! and light all the candles in the room. such a nice touch. and there was a towel warmer- a first for me, but a toasty towel when you get out of the shower was awesome. so many nice little touches at the riad. and there seemed to be a lot of common areas where you could meet people if you wanted and hang out there. oh and the hammam was great, the hammam technicians? were so adorable and seemed to be having a really great time doing it. it was such a fun experience and i would recommend this hammam, where you can enjoy the experience as a couple.

everything was great and we would definitely come back here if visiting fes again. we want to do the volubulia meknes trip!

Room Tip: we saw the brown and cream rooms, both were delightful.

we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful architecture mixed with contemporary style at this stunning riad that has been renovated in Fes. Quirky touches in the comfortable room made our stay a real pleasure. The central courtyard had a fantastic feeling of calm after the bustle of outside. Breakfast upstairs on the terrace was delicious and there are fantastic views. The dinner recommendation was good from the riad and they are kind enough to offer a guide so we did not get lost. The spa was great too -fantastic hammam and massage. Cannot recommend highly enough!

My mom and I spent 1 week in Morocco. We spent half at Riad Laaroussa. (For the other half, we wished we were back at the riad). We stayed in the red room -- overlooking a lush courtyard. Each morning, we woke up to birdsong. The room was immaculate (and this is from 2 clean freaks). The riad itself is exquisite. Look into any hallway or nook, and it has been lovingly restored. There is no surface glamour here. The beauty runs through every beam, stair, and doorway. But what made this visit extraordinary were the owners (Fred and Cathy) and staff. This is not just a place to rest your head. It's a home. Comforts abound. When my mom chose to sit in the courtyard, the owner lit a fire nearby. Moments later, staff arrived with tea and cookies. This is a place that anticipates your needs (before you know them!). They even welcomed my mom in the kitchen -- where she giggled with staff. On the last day, the staff kindly packed us sandwiches for our journey to Marrakech. Riad Laaroussa is a tough act to follow! So either stay here last (on your trip) or ask the owner for riad recommendations in other cities. Thank you, Riad Laaroussa!

Room Tip: We stayed in the red room -- 1 flight up. Stairs were steep (for my mom) -- but we were closer to th...

Staying at Riad Laaroussa created a memory I will never forget. The staff made sure we were comfortable and all our needs were met. This family owned resort made my daughter and I feel like family. The accommodations were beautiful and exceptionally clean. This riad captured the spirit of Morocco. The food was delicious (and I am most picky).

In other words, give yourself a very special treat and stay here!
