The interior of this Dar is really amazing, beautifully restored and very atmospheric - we wanted somewhere really Moroccan for the night before we flew home: this was perfect. Finding it was a truly Moroccan experience too, we failed, even with maps and then telephone instructions and had to pay a local volunteer to take us there (always MORE than enough volunteers around in Fez, all VERY anxious to earn...). Reception was courteous and leisurely, and garnished with a pot of mint tea. Our bedroom (up a twisting tiny stairway) was very large and magical and overlooked the dining courtyard. Even though it was a sensitively restored historical experience, it was clean and comfortable, with easy chairs and table, plenty of lighting , large comfortable bed and bathroom with a huge bath. There was fridge, TV, box of tissues etc etc. Dinner (set, no choice offered) was very elegantly served and beautifully presented. An assortment of salads, then lemon chicken tagine, then sliced orange/banana sprinkled with cinnamon- and half bottle of wine was about £45.00 for two. The major domo got up at five to see us on our way, taking us to the street nearby where the hotel has reserved attended parking. Luckily we had allowed time to get lost three times on the way to the airport...
