After long airplane and taxi rides, my husband and I were led through a maze of paths. It was raining and we were not happy, but when the doors of Riad Fes were opened by smiling staff, our frowns quickly turned to smiles. While checking in, we enjoyed a glass of steaming mint tea while my eyes roamed around the magnificent room adorned with mosaics and delicately carved walls and ceilings.
We spent five lovely nights at the Riad and it was not long enough. Yes, the architecture and decoration are magnificent, seeming to be straight out of a movie set, but it was truly the staff who made our stay special. No sooner did we walk towards a door when it was magically opened by a smiling red-clad young staff person. The general manager, an intelligent and gracious young woman named Caesarina and her assistant Awa went out of their way to be sure that our stay was perfect.
The food was so delicious that we ate in the Riad restaurant every night! In addition to wonderful dinners, the breakfasts were unbelievable. Eggs made to order, sweets galore, fresh fruits and yogurt were only a fraction of the offerings.
We recommend this fantastical, fabulous riad to anyone who enjoys deluxe accommodations made even more outstanding by a warm personable staff.
