My wife and I stayed at Riad Fes Ketanie in May 2013 for three nights -- and it was incredible. The owner/hostess, Dominque, was very personable and catered to our every need -- starting with a delightful Moroccan whiskey (mint tea) and goodies. The Riad, which has just completed a renovation less than a year ago, was classic Moroccan, with a central fountain, beautiful plaster Moroccan carvings, huge wooden doors, and beautiful little sitting rooms and antechambers around the riad -- not to mention the beautiful terrace. And the food, what can I say -- we ate there for three nights and each night we had an amazing 3 course meal -- focused on the tagine (and one night cous cous). The room was moderate sized but beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The water is the room was always hot -- something we don’t always find. The riad is located inside the medina, near the souks -- but be careful, you WILL get lost if you are not careful -- but just call them and they will help you find your way back. Can’t say enough things about this riad -- probably the best of our 16 day trip to Morocco. If you want all the amenities of a large hotel, then this isn’t for you. But if you want a charming, clean, beautifully decorated traditional decor place to stay convenient to the Fes sights and souks then this is perfect for you. Highly recommended: Grade: A+.
